I remember playing a similar game when I was younger.. Of course the graphics weren't quite as high quality.. But the game seems quite similar.. If only I could remember the name of that game lol. Wouldn't be a game I would play nowadays though.

I think all the intro was missing was
"Dear Diary,
Mood: Apathetic...My life is spiraling downward..."

So... some person decided to make a game where some dude who wants to kill a lot of people, and then you see the gameplay where it's just God of War with guns.

That's a good way to describe this; it's God of War meets Call of Duty with a bit of Grand Theft Auto, just with less than .01% of the quality of any of those games.

While I don't see myself playing it, I don't quite get why people are so up in arms. Open world games have let you slaughter tons of civilians for years, is the fact that this game's protagonist has a motivation really that touchy to people?

I don't find this kind of game appealing in the slightest, but I don't understand how it's different from any other sandbox game now-a-days, they let you go on killing sprees and rampages, only difference here is this is the point of the game. Not for me, but I'm not against it.

Except in NYC we actually have cops who would shoot this guy just for wearing a trench coat.

Most gamers will probably ignore it since it's probably a pretty bad game and for the fact that context is largely irrelevant when dealing with fictional pixel on pixel violence. The only real difference between this and nearly any open world game filled with kill-able civilians is the fact there is no pretense that you shouldn't be killing them. I'd be more than surprised if there is one person that hasn't started killing random people in GTA just to see how long they can hold a five star wanted level.

The real danger is when the media picks up on it and start calling all gamers terriorist in training. Wait, they already have....I actually read an article today that compared gamers (really the 4chan trolls Involved* in #gamergate, but they don't bother with that distinction) to ISIS. This can't really help matters.

I'm at work, so I won't look at the video, but I can tell you that playing SWTOR as a Sith... (well, even as a Jedi), I have slaughtered countless hapless enemies. Sometimes, I try to see how many I can kill in a single attack. Except for the blood and gore described in the posts, I don't see a difference. Some say that it's because theirs no reason behind the killing. Well, the Sith always ask, "Why do you need a reason?"

Doesn't really catch my attention. If I'm bored, then I'll probably play it.

Funny, that's how I play silent assassin.

Plus I think it's very ineffective to commit genocide one person at a time, people are born faster than that.

This is literally what people over the age of 40 think what videogames are.

Nothing new, save for the specific mission to go sociopathic postal. The elder scrolls and GTA franchises have been at this for awhile. Now you won't be penalised for antisocial behavior but rewarded instead. Quaint novelty, daring but probably quickly tiresome.
