Before CR, I'd download anime from Brazilian fansubs, and the openings usually came with kanji karaoke and a translation of the lyrics.
Why doesn't Crunchyroll have that?
The only forum entries about this I found were from years ago...
(Sorry if I'm being ignorant or stupid, it just crossed my mind...)

From what I've read on ANN, there are two main reasons:

1. The official lyrics for the song may not have been released yet. Translating through just listening would be both time consuming, and inaccurate (especially with the engrishy parts).

2. Oddly enough, the rights to translate/subtitle the song would likely be a entirely separate license from the actual anime. Companies that plan on putting out a physical release will usually go this extra step though.

Edit: Link to the full column on ANN. It's the last of the four questions.

Got it! The Licensing part is odd, but I get the lyrics part.
Thanks for the quick and helpful answer! =D

Personally I would just google the lyrics.

There's no way I can sing along to "future fish"

I struggle pronouncing the words even with nonmovement lyrics.

There's a site called Anime Lyrics that's actually a great reference for anime songs. Even if they don't have an English translation on there, they at least have the usually correct lyrics for anime songs. Here's the link for you guys: http://www.animelyrics.com/
