I feel that, although SAO has other flaws, it is not overly sexual, especially considering what I read in the novel.

you prefer the tentacle scene over normal sex?

it's somewhat part of anime though, since anime tends to exaggerate things, which also means that sexual themes will be pictured more intense than usual
tend to agree with your opinion that SAO has less of that, maybe except for the latest episode

SAO still has more of it than Log Horizon and .hack combined though. Especially with Suguha's tits and Sinon's ass.

If you want super sexual go watch Highschool DxD.

Compared to what would have happened if it went strictly by the novel, SAO is really clean (latest episode excluded)

Really, you have to stick to serious storylines. They basically overload on the fanservice with anything that has a strong comic side. Not saying you won't find fanservice in serious stories, just that the few that don't have it seem to always be serious.

Here's a few I can think of from over the years that had no fanservice to speak of:
Haibane Renmei
Now and Then, Here and There
Mushi-shi
Ghost Hunt

Of course, if you are only looking for anime where they are keeping it down to a more reasonable level than most, that's easier to find, and includes some good comedy titles. Here are a few titles where the fanservice doesn't seem overdone to me:
Working (AKA "Wagnaria")
The Eccentric Family
Maoyu
Mekakucity Actors

Kokoro Connect
Madoka Magica
D-frag!
Big Windup!
Hyouka
K-On!
Kill Me Baby
My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU
Non Non Biyori

I'm not saying that all of these shows don't have ANY fanservice, but they have little to none and are pretty good shows.

Baccano isn't that bad, I think.
You'd think I'd watched that enough to be sure.

Just picking a few at random that I've seen from the CR archives here (not counting the ones already recommended): Usagi Drop, Black Jack, Humanity Has Declined, Kobato, One Week Friends, Rurouni Kenshin, Time of Eve, and Sora no Woto.

I just started Natsume Yujincho, but I'm pretty sure it would belong in this list too.

Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 is the only one I can name. It's just an anime based on real life events

Koe de Oshigoto! isn't sexualized at all. It's completely pure.

You should watch it with your parents.
