1) Love that picture!
2) Norse Cosmology isn't only applied in One Piece, but in Sword Art Online as well... and I'm sure lot's of others.

If anyone is watching Naruto, you should have noticed the HUGE FUCKING TREE...
Yeah, Norse Cosmology right there...

Pretty sure they come up with the ideas through things they've experienced, then add a bit of imagination to the stories. Don't really know tho.

Manga and anime creators are just creative people. That's all. They're just like western fiction writers like R.L. Stine or J.K. Rowling only with creative art. Although, whoever created BoboboHoweverManyBosThereAre was clearly on drugs.

Seven. There's seven.

A set of three, a set of two, then another set of two.

BoBoBo-BoBo-BoBo.

Correction.
Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo.

The 4th and 5th bos are separate

So it's 3-1-1-2, then?

My apologies, I must have heard wrong at some point. It's certainly been a while.

Japan is such a weird country... A lot of their media is like that, really. I'm sure Black Butler, Death Note, and FMA are some of the most normal things that come from Japan.

It comes down to having a creative mind, I guess. That and what with the internet and how Japan has a lot of weird stuff in general inspiration isn't hard to come by. A lot of people question whether some do drugs, and while a few undoubtedly do, there are plenty who don't. I know of an animator who made really weird stuff, and when someone asked if he had to be high to make something like he did, he replied 'No, because animating takes concentration and focus, something I couldn't utilise if I was high'. I'd imagine the same goes for most other people who do artistic works. I can draw plenty of weird stuff without needing to be on drugs or anything, so long as you have inspiration or can even think of zany stuff, making something bizarre isn't that hard. I'd imagine, though, it's like seeing a music sheet for one of Beethoven's works and saying' How do you even think of all that?' some people have it, and others don't.

I think I can understand it when I think about how I created the story I am currently writing.

Something randomly inspired me, and I came up with a really stupid idea and created some random characters and just kinda sent them on adventures in my head. A world started to form around these characters and suddenly the world started to become more real than the characters, so they began to conform to the very world that was birthed by them (lol). From there, rules began being put into place and radical ideas begin to form as I got more in touch with my creative side. After leaving the floodgates open for a while, I found myself with something that was NOTHING like what I started with, but creative jumble of stuff that had been thrust into creation by my will alone.

I think it is mostly something like that. You get inspired, a world for your characters gets formed and all of sudden.. well.. as they say... shit hits the fan. Only in the best way possible!

Whenever you see something creative, just assume it's drugs at work.
