i think paypal is a moronic idea and i don't know why it is so popular...also i keep forgetting my password since never use it other than once every 4 years and it afterwards always gets jacked.

I don't think Paypal executives should be shot on sight, so I'd have a hard time agreeing with your second sentence.

But otherwise, yeah. I love the fact that (now that they're almost a de facto monopoly in many countries) they've jacked fees and decided they can shut off anyone for any reason (translation: if they're afraid it might upset one of their large customers).

Their latest appears to be that even though they previously allowed users to approve or deny requests for money from Crunchyroll (and presumably other merchants), apparently now they go through no matter what. And there's apparently no way to take your information off file. Bravo, Paypal.

Just guessing... it could be that someone (other than the people who frequent these forums) has heard about the frequently-compromised accounts (but it's always the user's fault), anti-intuitive security practices, forcing subscribers to keep their card number on file so an intruder can use it in the store, and/or the "We said you could cancel your free trial at any time but you can't" scam.

Financial service providers don't tend to like other people screwing their customers... that's their turf.

Foreign currency transactions always receive more scrutiny. We don't have billing in Danish krones, so things are complicated in first place.

That does make sense. No one likes paperwork or liability, so if a group of transactions has a risk of both, they'd probably treat those transactions like the plague. (¬_¬)

(Kinda like Paypal with small-customer transactions that might upset large customers, I guess.)

I wrote to the form listed on Teller, but even that one was more aimed at Danish businesses. Let's see if they reply.

you mean this one? https://www.teller.com/apply-for-agreement/country/cross-border-acquiring/ (under e-commerce)

but honestly the entire site seems confusing to me. especially the overfrequent use of the word "acquiring". it makes me feel like they're not a transaction firm but a delivery service.

but I am happy i don't work with transactions, the amount of laws and regulations to browse through is tiresome as *.

in regards to foreign currency, this might be a solution:

https://www.teller.com/Global/Documents/Cross%20border%20and%20other%20English%20doc/Produktark/Teller_Multicurrency_ENG_0415_(14850).pdf

(although the words turnover settlement confuses me)

Some card providers don't allow their cards to be used for recurring payments, like a regular Crunchyroll membership. If you're able to buy a gift membership from the store, that is likely the issue.
