Yeah okay, it's hard not to think of Zvezda in that last scene.

Also love for the makeshift costumes at the end there. Really really cute touch ><

Anybody notice that in the sky shots of the YatterKingdom, it doesn't look too hot either? That lighthouse is in a wasteland of rock.

Hmm....

This show is really a quiet gem of the season. Right now, it's able to focus very well with the trio of our main characters. They have this chemistry that is hard to deny when together. That aside, there's also some craziness and some fan service (for the ladies) exclusively for the latest episode 2

Well that could have gone better for them

The giant Mecha-forehead flicking machine was awesome, especially considering what they had to work with

unfortunately

Very clearly the people in Yatterkingdom are no better off than our protagonists were....infact seeing how Leopard and her minions at least had their freedom I would say they were actually better off than the people in YK.

End with some pretty serious belly buttons and the intro of a new character.

I love that deep down Leopard is still a good girl. She hates the idea of commiting crimes and doesn't want to be a thief, despite taking after her ancestor.

She wants justice, in the form of a forehead flicking...which leads to Giant Mecha-Forehead Flicker

Well it was pretty obvious that they're gonna have a rough start. Wonder how their adventures will go from here.

BTW the new female character really looks like

There's some basic info on the first page about her, your comment goes pretty well with her boyfriend (probably) too.

Iono somethign about this show just isn't gelling with me

it's like the dissonance between the gravity of their situation and their zany childish comedy isn't quite lining up and i'm left feeling weird.

A lot of comparisons being made to Seikai Seifuku, and i can understand that, but in Zvezda is was all wacky and zany from top to bottom, their war was funny, their backgrounds were funny/zany, their costume was funny/zany everything was coherent and uniform

but in this show their rather serious background and mission, makes their costumes and overall attitude come off as borderline "delusional" (?) (not right word but i can't quite pin down my feeling)

for example, for me it made sense for Kate's followers to follow her despite her age because why not their just a wacky gang of freedom fighters.

But the two guys in this series just come off as irresponsible to me for feeding this girls "revenge" fantasy...

iono, will continue to watch but the contrasting tones is off putting to me atm

So, I really don't know what tone this is going for. Sometimes it's wacky and stupid (just look at the first half of the episode) while being very bleak and serious the rest of the time. I honestly don't really know how to feel about this.

I however do need a gif of the opening scene when the one guy was hammering on the other guys hand while they were watching the mother feed the baby. That was hilarious
