This happens frequently, It'll probably be back on in a couple weeks.
The company, in this case CN, wants to raise the amount they charge for airing their programs, and "for you" the service provider removes it from their line up so they don't have to "raise your bill". So since all you care about is that you're losing something you probably use more than any of the other 700+ useless channels on cable, typically you nerd rage @ the provider to get it back on, or to get a viable solution, and that viable solution is that your bill will increase.
If by a surprise landslid, nobody gives a flying rats butt about CN going away, CN will usually back down, it'll go back on, and your bill will relatively stay the same.

A big previous shit storm that ran the course to all providers was when AMC was wanting to charge more because of their "awesome original programming and numerous providers, one at a time near each separate week, was removing them from the channel line up.
Of course they had walking dead, breaking bad, and mad men so everybody and their mothers nerd raged at the cable companies, instead of at AMC,and AMC stayed on the air and our cable bills went up.

I'll probably say that ATT, Verizon, Time Wiener, the dishes, and whatever other providers still exist, may end up trying to drop CN too.

The sad thing is that we who do not watch those shows pay a higher price for our service providers along with everyone else.

It's because the contract Turner Networks, owner of CN, expired and they don't want to renew it.

I don't know of any service that will just provide me with the internet. Besides I'm half way through a two year contract with Comcast. The only good news is that rate increases don't really effect because of that fact.

I would have reported your post as advertising spam, if it wasn't on topic. (I'm joking. I'm joking.)

Well damn, end of an era. No more Saturday morning cartoons and now CN getting the boot. Crazy if true.

Okay after reading the particulars I think Turner tried to charge a boat load of money for channels no one watches like CNN and HLN. Dish didn't want to pay and the contract expired. Makes sense.

Cartoon Network died in 2004, so you arent really missing anything other than Adult Swim. And you can stream most of the American shows online. So basically youre good
