Cartoon Network is garbage anyway, they haven't had a good show since Billy and Mandy. No, nothing on Adult Swim counts.

Adventure Time, Regular Show and The Amazing World of Gumball are equally good as the old cartoons, let me rephrase that, they are better than most old cartoons, and you're hearing this from a guy that grew up with the 90s cartoons

I couldn't believe what I was reading. I totally disagree and cannot even fathom how anyone could have this opinion. Well whatever. To each their own and all that.

Adventure Time is as enjoyable as the old cartoons and theres no deeper cartoons from the old cartoon network than Adventure Time... some of them were plain stupid like Cow and Chicken

but yes to each its own

I don't know of any service that will just provide me with the internet. Besides I'm half way through a two year contract with Comcast. The only good news is that rate increases don't really effect because of that fact.

Comcast Xfinity is supposed to have internet-only plans where there's no phone or TV but only cable internet. I'm on such a plan but I'm on the west coast.

Sadly I have don't have much choice in service providers myself.
There are only two locally, and to trying to get internet alone is nearly the same price. >_<

If you live in a rural area not serviced by the large cable networks (especially in the western U.S, and Mountain Time Zones, where putting cable in the ground isn't worth the money it would cost in potential subscribers), Dish is the default service for television and sometimes, for the Internet as well. Thankfully, we have a small, independent microwave Internet provider (which we access with another dish, ironically) for high speed Internet access. Often, there's no choice in providers for exurban or rural residents, so the 'switch to a competitor' argument doesn't really work.

Coming from the perspective of a 90's kid.

I feel CN died around 2004 since all my favorite shows like Johnny Bravo, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Dexter's Labratory, Tom and Jerry, and even Code Lyoko were slowly but surely being replaced by shows that just slowly killed my interest in it. I couldn't like anything they have now like Adventure Time, Johnny Test and The Regular Show.

And when they removed Toonami the first time I just retreated to the wonders of thee Internet and never looked back

Dish lost Cartoon Network, they didn't remove it to smite you or anything. They just couldn't come to an agreement on the contract renewal.

When it comes to media consumption, I'd say an Internet connection is far more important than a connection to a cable or satellite TV provider. If you're willing to hunt around, you can get much of what those services provide on the Internet for much less, though you might have to wait if you want it for free. Still, less than ten dollars a month for subtitled anime is much better than over one hundred dollars a month for a basic Dish subscription. If we had another option out here in the sticks, I'd take it, unless the service was even worse than that which Dish provides. It isn't hard to exceed that benchmark, since its abysmally low.

Guess it's CR for now and we'll figure out how to get the rest of Hellsing Ultimate without springing for the box set, like borrowing the discs from friends.
