I don't know if anyone has posted something like this already but I was thinking. One of the factors that ensures good customer experience when people use your app is the overall look/feel/design of the app and the UI.

I just wanted to hear your guy's opinion on the current crunchyroll app for android. Do you like the way the UI feels and looks? Is it time for a redesign? How about the overall performance of the app? What are some things you like or dislike about the current app and what would your suggestions be for improvement?

I only wish they would update it to material design since Google has announced Lollipop. I stated imagining what it would like so I made a mockup design of it. Let me know what you guys think. (*Disclaimer: I'm not a UI designer so be easy on me please lol)

I hope to add more screens later and maybe make a gif or video showcasing some animations too possibly

Very nice, material design! And the phone I have.

Though honestly the thing I want the most right now on Android is support for resolutions over 360p, preferably 720p or higher. I don't use this app as much as I would otherwise, as I feel I'm not getting a satisfactory enough experience with such low video and audio quality. In case a redesign was to be introduced, I think yours is very nice. I'd probably prefer having each show's title under its poster image, it'd be helpful for those who aren't as familiar with their key visuals.

Thanks! and yeah I agree. Watching a show on my tablet at that quality just doesn't feel the best and the wait for an episode to become available for mobile is kind of annoying too. I wish they would make it available the same day

Looks great. Instead of a UI overhaul though I feel it's more important that the app gets updated to support 720p/1080p.
Watching a 360p video on a 6inch 2560x1440 display is terrible.
The iOS version of the app isn't much better though. Even on a 70Mbps connection on my iPhone 5 it was jumping about cycling through 360p/480p/720p constantly and I can't emphasise how distracting it is seeing the subtitles constantly shift in size etc. Is it really that hard to make a manual quality selection on the app? Boggles my mind to no end.

I have no iOS device to test this on, but according to this post, if you go onto the settings screen and press and hold it should give you the option to force it to stay one resolution.

Just tried it and it works. I wish I would've known that a year or so earlier, or it could just not have been a hidden option in the first place
Ohwell. My iPhone is on secondary right now after upgrading to my Nexus 6. Just gotta wait and hope the droid app get's a worthwhile update.

I recall there being a method of selecting fixed video quality on the iOS app, but I don't know if it still applies to the current version:
