If I had to say just one anime, it would have to be Cowboy Bebop for sure.

Hey, could you change the picture with this one? The one in the OP is honestly kind of disgusting and something that a lot of people aren't going to want to see.

Are shows like Toradora, FMA 2003, Azumanga Daioh or Haruhi Suzumiya old enough now to be considered as having "stood the test of time" in terms of production value as opposed to being pretty much the same as modern production values? The line is a bit fuzzy. I'd definitely count pre-2005 shows but I think Haruhi, Ouran or Toradora is pushing it a bit.

Oh, I thought of a good one: Video Girl Ai. Those OVAs must have been really high-budget because they still look great even today. I'd compare the art and animation in that series favorably against many of today's shows.

Macross / Robotech
Beast King GoLion / Voltron

Mid 80s, even if they where horribly chopped up and dubbed...when you are 7 it doesn't matter.

Before this thing called the internet streaming and the only way to watch funny cat moments was to do something funny like sneak up on them. God I am old, now anime doesn't come out fast enough
