Unless you have a combo modem/router, resetting your router won't change your IP. For that, you'll need to power cycle your modem (if it is a separate unit), and even that may not change your IP address, depending on your ISP's DHCP lease settings.


The thing is, my ip address is set to New Zealand, it's just on Crunchyroll that it shows up as Russia.


Exact same thing happening to me. I live in New Zealand (never gone to russia, and im sorry but I don't plan on going either) yet my Location on crunchyroll shows up as Russian Federation, wheres any website like 'ipchicken' shows my correct NZ IP/location.

The question is, did it change from a previous one that CR's geolocation service recognized properly to one that didn't, or did the entry in CR's geolocation service database change?

If the former, being able to grab a new IP address might get you back to normal faster than waiting for CR to correct the problem. If the latter, you are probably stuck until then, as it may be that the entire range of addresses your ISP uses has been affected.


Hopefully by the time you read this CR will have corrected the problem on their end, and the entire discussion will be academic.

Hi guys, I have heard back from our engineers.
Unfortunately the issue will only be fixed earliest next week.

I've added an extra week of membership for all of you.

Just found this thread courtesy of TheAncientOne and am really happy to see the great support for this issue, I hadn't seen this thread so was a bit in the dark about what was going on. :)

Just wondering about the extra week of membership, is that added to everybody accessing CR from NZ? I've been having the same issues and saw you say you'd added an extra week there, so thought I'd ask!

Anyway thanks for the great support shown about this issue, glad to know it'll be fixed soon.

This is also an issue I have encountered, I'm a New Zealand user but it says I'm from Russia =x

Relieved to see the issue is being looked at! Hopefully it will be fixed asap =x

Also from NZ (Spark ADSL), been playing up all long weekend - got detected as Russia same as you guys.

Logging out and in didn't seem to work, but just tried logging out, clearing cookies for Crunchyroll.com and logged back in - success! Now detected as NZ and can watch Akame
