I've noticed something, people tend to get annoyed with men who doesn't shave off their beard. Sometimes I don't shave my beard in a weeks time, some people I know then oftenly go up and tell me that I look like a cave monster with my "beard".

And now a friend of mine have been collection a beard for about half a year. And he told me that people that he doesn't know have gone up to him only to ask when he'll shave it off.

And thus my question is; Do you have a problem with beards, why/why not? Or maybe you have a beard and want to tell a similar story.

I have a beard and absolutely love it. One of my sisters (I have 5 of them) hates it & will ask me when I'm going to shave it off.

My wife's cool with my beard & my kids generally area. They sometimes say it's prickly when I give them kisses. But yea - having a beard is awesome. I grew one once I realized I could. Shaved it for my wedding, then grew it back immediately after and apart from a few days here & there, generally have had one since.

Beards are ok. Yes there is a problem with them being prickly to feel when you get kissed by someone who has one. I think well groomed beards look great. I was shocked when I was at one school that caters from 11-19, there were a few boys/men that had beards. Since I was 12, it was shocking to see. I didn't know you could grow a beard at school. All schools in the Caribbean tend to use uniforms so the bearded ones would be walking around in full uniform and a full beard.

I am one of those people that can grow a beard in 3 to 4 days, it's kinda natural and it looks good on me. I don't have a problem with most beards or people with facial hair. The ones that do bother me are the people who either grow a beard and dont take care of it so it looks horrible or the ones who grow hair in splotchy and leave it there.

Wow, what a bunch of assholes.

I have no problem with beards. In fact I'd like to be able to grow one myself, only problem being I still have that shitty patchy, stubbly, neckbeard teenager thing which ain't that great.

I don't typically have a full on beard but I look absolutely terrible clean-shaven. I try to keep it pretty short(shorter even than in the pic I posted in the "What do you look like" thread). So anyone who tries to tell me to shave can just eff off. But I have not had a single person ever ask me when I was going to shave it off. Pretty rude to do that.

I can grow a beard really quickly and it is annoying to shave every day...so no I do not mind having a beard. With that being said there is a difference between a monstrosity growing on your face and well-groomed and well-trimmed beard.

The only time I've seen people have problem with beards is when they look like Saddam Hussein because some smart ass thought looking a homeless bum is a potential terrorist threat.

I don't mind beards, but I can't seem to grow a full one, and people will constantly remind of the fact that I haven't shaved yet. So I've given up on trying to grow one.

i kinda don't like them because it irritates my face but if they are styled well they aren't bad.

I've had a beard for some time (about a year now, I believe) and haven't heard complaints. In fact, it's the opposite - I've received compliments about it from both men and women.

While it does take less time to maintain a beard than it does to maintain a clean shave, it does still take time to groom. Proper grooming is key. If you let your facial hair grow willy-nilly without trimming or properly sculpting it, you probably will pick up the aforementioned "Saddam" look and some negative comments.

My advice to those wanting to grow a beard would be to buy a decent trimmer (most run about $30 and have adjustable guides for setting length) and experiment to find a style of beard that compliments your face. You won't be stuck with it like a bad haircut, if the results don't look satisfactory you can shave it off immediately and try again in a few days.

I HAD a beard, but cut it...... 4 months wasted. Growing again though, I'm told I look good with one. :3

I miss my beard! But I haven't been able to have one for the 15 years I've spent in law enforcement. My wife keeps encouraging me to go back into teaching, but freaks out when I suggest that doing so would allow me to re-grow my beard.

i'm fine with beards, unless it's out of control and flying all over the place... but depending on the person, a bit of scruff looks pretty good (IMO) XD
