confusion with Naruto reanimations

Title kinda says it all, but let me elaborate. During the current "Fourth Shinobi World War" story arc, Kabuto reanimates a whole bunch of really strong, but dead ninja (and then some not so strong ones) to fight against the alive ninja. One of the people who he reanimates is Madara Uchiha. From earlier in the anime, we see he looks something like this:
But when he's reanimated he goes back to being young. I thought this was because maybe the jutsu brought you back to your healthiest and strongest state, but when the 3rd hokage is reanimated, he comes back as an old man. Also, if I recall but I couldn't find pictures, during one of the episodes Kabuto reanimates a rather old sage who comes back as an old man. I'm just wondering if there's some logic behind this or if I should just say "fuck it, anime logic". Any ideas?

This is a good question to ask in the existing show discussion thread: /forumtopic-813713/naruto-shippuden-fourth-shinobi-world-war-discussion-thread, so please repost it there.

Because there's an existing discussion thread, this one is considered a duplicate, so I've closed it.
