I'm a Code Geass fan for life. That anime got me hooked when I first saw it five years ago.

DRAGON, DRAGON! ROCK THE DRAGON! DRAGON BALL Z!

I believe the year was 1996 or 1997 when I first caught it on its first English broadcast syndication. It's probably one of the last animes I want to watch right at the moment, but I would stil consider myself a fan for sure.

Well technically, Sailor Moon.

Then Pokemon, , i even bought a Pokemon quilt cover... and i didn't throw it away until i was 24... Bought two Gameboys to trade pokemons with myself because everyone else was too old for Pokemon :/ .

Right now, as of this moment, I have severe OCD when it comes to Free!. It's like the most inspiring anime for me right now... and I can't get over it.

I remember being really into Sailor Moon as a kid. Tried to watch it again recently and...nope. Actually had the same reaction to Tenchi Muyo. I wish my nostalgia could live up to reality sometimes!

that's my reaction to pokemon and DBZ. i doubt i can finish an episode of either.

But sailor moon is still funny to me for some reason.

Naruto. Years later and I'm still watching the latest episodes, talk about dedication right there.

I'm a dedicated fan of multiple series. I grew up watching Crayon Shinchan (to the point where I'd memorize each and every phrase for all of the episodes I had recorded on VHS), and I still collect all of its movies on DVD to this day. The first niche anime that I became a dedicated fan of would probably be Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, and I'll continue to follow all of the author's future works regardless of his dying reputation.

Magic Knight Rayearth

Made a couple (yes, a couple) of fan websites, wrote two really long fanfics plus a bunch a shorter ones, got the full Mediablasters DVD boxset (didn't like what they did to it but still bought it), figures, animation cells, episode books...

Sailor Moon for sure. Though that was largely because it was on TV. If we're talking the first series I really went out of my way to immerse myself in, I'd say it was Bubblegum Crisis.

I'm not 100% sure what you mean by "really dedicated fan" but Rozen Maiden held the spot of my favourite anime for 2 years until Sword Art Online came out. It was also probably the 3rd or 4th anime I watched so it was the first that I truly loved and I still consider Suigintou to be one of my favourite characters in anime. The remake - not so much.

It's a tie between Pokemon, Digimon, and Yu-Gi-Oh!

The first one that I've watched the entire series is Legend of the Four Kings.
