Hmm. Yugioh, Pokemon, Digimon. Mostly the kid stuff of the '90s and earlier for the stuff that first introduced me to it. Due to my lack of ability to control the TV back in the day, I was never able to watch Zoids when I wanted to, but when I could I really loved that. Even bought that old, crappily translated GBA game Zoids Legacy. I didn't notice how bad the English was back then, though...

The first one that I got really crazy about though, that'd definitely have to go to Code Geass! I'm working on getting my hands on the second season still, but I've rewatched both seasons about 8 or so times, and I still get the itch to watch it regularly. It is my second favorite anime of all time, easily.

K-ON! and Haganai, I am a devoted fan of the K-ON series. I have the full first and second season on K-ON all mangas,or rather light novels, all Alter figures, and this is my favorite series of all time only Haganai can have a chance of usurping K-ON.

Haganai I have all the manga that have been currently released in America and I am currently looking for the Blu -Ray DVD limited edition combo, as well as come GSC figures and a Kobato figure from Kotobukiya.

I'm a fan for life of most of the animes I watch. ( I've scoured for the good ones it seems tho :$ )

I'm not sure what a ' dedicated ' fan is though.

The anime I cherish the most is Hunter x Hunter. That's the one I'd recommend to people who I don't know very well. I was talking to a friend of mine about recommendations earlier and I basically figured out that there isn't really any one anime I'd recommend to someone that wasn't an anime fan without hesitation.

If I want the person to become a fan of anime in general, I need to know their personality. We started thinking bout other friends we had and what we'd recommend to them as a first anime. The ones that popped into my head for different 'types' were:

Hunter x Hunter ( Open minded. Intelligent. )
Hellsing ( Male stereotypes mostly. I'd recommend this to girls who have a bit of sadism in them and a thing for the creepy psychopaths. ( dont ask me how I'd find that out about them though ))
Steins Gate ( Intelligent. Dark sense of humor )
Baccano ( People who dislike drama and love twisted humor. )
Fullmetal Alchemist ( Female(Mostly). Open minded. )
Magi ( Female. Stereotypes )
Shingeki no Kyojin ( Male. Someone who I know can handle the drama and lack of humor )
Pokemon ( Children( I'd want everyone to see it, but I'm being realistic about whether or not they'll actually end up watching it and follow on to watch MORE anime later on )
Code Geass/Death Note ( These are probably the most gender equal in my head. Pseudo-intellectuals. People with high self-esteem but not a lot of intelligence, which backfires due to them thinking too highly of themselves. )
My Teen RomCom/Baka no Test ( People who can't sit through a show without waiting for the next joke )

Yeah. I'm a die hard fan of all of them. If it looks like I'm dissing them by attributing sexist/insulting attributes to them I don't mean it like that. I just wouldn't recommend Hellsing to the random girl at the bar and I wouldn't recommend Hunter x Hunter to the musclehead. I don't think my prejudices are that bad. I'm trying to get them on their way to see all of them anyway. They're all amazing. Some more than others but all 100% worth the watch.

Then, after they got hooked on the show I'd start them down the ladder there. After those would be done I'd go into the anime's that I don't have as strong feelings for, but are still superb TV. Such as :

Kuroko no Basuke
Akame ga Kill
The Irregular at Magic High School( This is quickly becoming a member of my favorites that I listed above )
Devil is a Part Timer
Guilty Crown

Ps. I forgot one. Mushishi - ( The pretentious 'intellectual' ) And I'd pitch it exactly like this : " I tried watching this show but it was just too confusing. I wouldn't recommend you watch that one because it would probably just piss you off because of the headache it would give you. ( at this point, I'd remember, he's arrogant and pretentious, that might somehow hurt his feelings, so I then say: ) don't get me wrong. Im not saying you wont understand it, I'm just saying it would make your mind explode cuz of the massive amount of information. Both informative and emotional. I know I couldn't handle it. "

I'm pretty sure that would nail him. He'd go home and watch 3 episodes. Then you see him the day later and he's got it all figured out and he doesn't like it either ( because he really just skimmed those first 3 just to make mental notes of what to references to make. He has no intention of actually watching this. He just wanted to prove a point that he's smarter than me. ) At which point I say, oh man. You need to watch like 10 before you get into the really deep stuff. But I understand your reluctance to watch it, it does feel a bit like they're just bullshitting you constantly and trying to make some pseudo logic work in their favor, right?

As we all know, a pretentious (mostoftenpseudo)intellectual will do anything to make other people know they're smarter than you. He will instantly jump on this as a challenge to come see me next week, explaining in detail how awesome Mushishi, and how it made him think in totally different ways about life and stuff. Because he actually put in the effort to delve into the story now. And thats sorta the point of Mushishi, I'm 99% that type of person would enjoy it. I didn't. Because of exactly the reasons I stated above. I'm not 100% lying, just bending the truth a bit. But I'm 99% sure that if I stuck by it and watched more than 1 episode, I'd probably love it. I am, after all, a pretentious pseudo-intellectual.

Some of you might consider what I just wrote " trolling " But no. This isn't. It's just manipulation. Because this is a friend I'm talking about. I want him to watch anime with me in the future. I'm just giving him nice words to make it go smoother. In some cases I'd compliment them and take a different approach. This one is way simpler, but this mostly only works with people you have a specific type of relationship with. All you have to say is " Hey, this show is amazing. I love it so much. And I really want you to see it, because I think that you, out of all the people I hang out with, would actually be able to appreciate it "

Sounds like sucking up? Not to them. That one works 100% of the time. But only once per target.

This has gotten way out of hand, I'm gonna post the reply now and see if I want to edit it or something tomorrow when I wake up. I'm very sleepdeprived right now. I'll answer all of you who ask me anything bout why I would label e.g. Hellsing ( Male Stereotype ) or Fullmetal Alchemist ('female')

Right now I'm hoping most of this isn't just gibberish and I've wasted a long time doing nothing but make myself look like an idiot. I'm so tired I don't even want to read it over again.

Good night folks.

Tenchi Muyo. That's cause I'm an old fart. and back when I remember just getting into it, there were too many "series" but more movies.

Oh.. and CCS...

Cardcaptor Sakura was highly underrated.

First manga to really draw me in was Oh My Goddess...

Hmm... I'm not really a dedicated fan of anything.
I did watch a lot of Poke'mon back when I was a young'n.
Two summers ago, I did watch a ton of Bleach every day.
Attack on Titan was pretty awesome.
The only anime themed clothing I have is a Pikachu shirt and a AoT belt.

When I was 12, I was flipping through channels and landed on a snippet of Naruto back when it was on Toonami. It looked moderately interesting so I decided to watch the first episode. The rest is what you call history. Now 18, still avidly watch it. Literally dedicated my whole adolescence to that show.
