CR Bucks and snailmail will be phased out soon as well.

Also, I just replied back to your email at support and manually verified your account for you. It was the reason you were unable to create a thread. You need to have your email verified before you can post in the forums and alter your profile.

Are you serious that CR Bucks will be gone soon? Dang. You're scaring me.

Are you guys going to at least reactivate some of the older payment methods as in buying membership through PayPal without subscribing or is everything just going to be subscription based?

I'm really a fan of quick easy pay because I don't like things hanging in my cards because I have a bad habit of forgetting about them. I would like to have a direct payment method rather than a run around like buying yourself a gift membership or other things. It would make things less complicated for customers like me.

I don't have any information on that, but I'll pass on your feedback next week. Also, users have the ability to disable their renewals if they do not wish to be on a recurring subscription. I marked your post so I don't forget.

Cool. Thanks!

Well, just want to note that it's almost a year that the "Gift Membership" has been defunc.

Looking forward to the answers.

Excuse the double post.

I know, but I'm still a fan of the "One and Done" kind of deal. Again, I have a tendency to forget about subscriptions and the possibility of overdrafts for other users.

Also to add, any details on what's going to happen to the remain CR Bucks in the accounts of the ones that have hanging balances? I have about $3 something there.

You can buy gift memberships of various types and duration for others (or yourself) through the store (/search?from=store&q=membership+gift).

Yes. I am well aware of that as I have written an entire guide on alternative payments for crunchyroll membership. Though, I have yet to add Lorreen/Kippu's method for gifting because lazy.

That is not my point. I am pointing at a feature that is just there and haven't been functioning in almost a year.

Also, I am putting to question in what crunchyroll has in store for a more easily accessible payment plan for those who doesn't want to subscribe.

Indeed, the link seems to be redirecting to the store. I'm guessing it's meant to point at the gift memberships I just linked to in my previous post. I'll have someone look at that.

There is nothing wrong with the link you stated. Just stating what is more favorable for a small constituent of users who prefer a different way of doing things.

Well, hopefully the CR team figures something out. I prefer buying than regularly "renting" the membership.

(I can see why CR is taking a direction. Though, there should be an easier way to do a "One and Done" payment deal.)

I've forwarded the issue regarding the link redirecting to the wrong page. If all goes well, it shouldn't take too long to resolve.

I'm saddened to see Rixty has been discontinued as a payment option. I have some credit there and was planning on using that toward CR membership later, but I guess that is no longer an option.

Do you have a link to your alt payment guide? I'd love to check it out.

I agree there should be a simple, no hassle, non-recurring payment option available. Instead of having to contact support to disable recurring payments, which is an added hassle on both the user and support.

Maybe an option in the user settings to disable recurring membership with a button click or two is something that could be implemented?

Also, since checks by snail mail seem to be on the way out too, I wonder would an e-check method be viable? If users could use an electronic check instead of having to mail a physical one that would be pretty convenient and would be non-recurring as well.

Well, let's see what they have planned. Seen the landscape changed too much, but CR Bucks was out of the blue for me.

Hahaha, silly me. I rarely look at the stickied threads outside of the anime section. Thanks for the link.

I guess you will have to do some editing of it now that things are changing too. Yeah, hopefully they have some new non-recurring methods now that the current ones are on the way out; besides the gift membership way.

There is, actually; if you click the button for cancel membership, you'll then go to a page with the option to cancel recurring payments. You can purchase a one/three/etc. month sub then turn off recurring payments this way.
