No, DBZ is not. Long story short, the series should have ended at the end of the Frieza saga. What came after was either subpar or blew.

why do you felt that way?

*Card Captor Sakura approaches the judges* "Excuse me sir. I feel there is some fighting in my show that might be considered good....if that's ok with you."

Not really. Best fighting anime are:
Dragon Ball,
Dragon Ball Z,
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
...
Others.

It is the best one to me because I never enjoyed an anime as much as that one before...I remember getting out of school so fast just to get home and watch DBZ.

I am a huge fan of Ranma 1/2, I own all 7 seasons and the OVA set on DVD.

The only other show with this honor is Dragonball Z.

The action in Ranma is fantastic and creative...but the source materials final arc, the one that puts Ranma up high on fighter lists, was never adapted. Leaving us with an incomplete Action Rom-com.

Depends. Do you personally feel that way about the anime? Everyone else's opinion aren't gonna help you very much.

I feel that way because it became overly repetitive after the Frieza saga. "Oh noes! A more powerful bad guy! He can destroy planets too!" Then Goku dies again. The android saga moved incredibly slow, and Cell saga took way too long. Frieza was cool because he could destroy an entire planet and killed all of the saiyans practically. I, as an audience member, could sense how evil and powerful this character was. But the whole thing of having a more powerful enemy, such as Cell, has that same impact like Frieza, except more power which we cannot even begin to measure. By this point in the series, we've already reached the zenith of power measurements: the ability to destroy an entire planet. The series stalled, and there is good argument out there that the author originally intended to end it after the death of Frieza.

You could say it was the first of its kind but definitely not the best.

OBJECTION!

The DBZ Formula:

Villain arrives ----> Villain defeats heroes ------> Bulma gets pissed -----> Heroes train to punch things harder -----> Heroes punch villain harder -------> Villain dies

The Ranma Formula:

Random Martial Arts Style Emerges ----> Opponent defeats Ranma ------> Akane gets pissed -------> Ranma trains -----> Ranma masters new martial arts style ------> Ranma defeats opponent

It's almost (but not quite) the same thing. Ranma expands his skills as a martial artist by learning new techniques, methods, and training regimens. The Z warriors learn to throw bigger laser beams or punch harder, ultimately growing little more than their muscles. Which is better?

...

Neither. They're both great in their own way. Ranma has off-the-wall zany martial arts styles and slapstick humor that will keep you coming back again and again. DBZ is pure, delicious 80's sports hero narm. It even has the training montages, all it needs is the hair metal background track.
