Not really, but I usually play as a male character so I can properly role play, specially in Pokemon

Hell no, I play alot of games that I like the females over the males anyday. Example; samurai warriors 4.

It depends on the game. When playing something story oriented like the Dragon Age or Mass Effect series. I tend to play through the games as a male the first time and then a female the second. And with something like The Elder Scrolls or Fallout series, I like to make multiple characters of different genders, so I generally end up playing both genders equally.

I enjoy customizing and creating female characters more than I do male. For reasons that are somewhat obvious. But from a Roleplaying viewpoint I like to play a male first. It's much easier to immerse myself into the story and my character if I'm playing as my own gender. For me, it's all about getting the full experience out of a game. Instead of just replaying in the same exact way. Better to mix things up if I'm going to replay a game.

But to answer the actual question. No, I don't think it's weird. Unless you're playing an MMO and trying to pass yourself off as a female. Then that can be a bit awkward. I tend to play as female characters in MMOs, but I just do it for eye candy.

No, I usually act like my usual self even if i play as female characters in games and MMO.
There is only this one incident where i pretended to be a girl because to get back at this griefer who like to kill low levels player for no reason, in my defense, he started flirting first and i decided to break his heart rather than his toon since he is full geared with pay to win skillsets and i am just a low level player.

No, not really. I personally prefer playing as a male. Also when I play online games I treat everyone, no matter the playermodel like they are gender neutral.

It's been done so many times in WoW and other MMORPGs, so no and even I do it, though casually.

No.

Way back in the day, you often didn't have a choice about your character being a male or a female. You were automatically a male and your name usually couldn't be comprised of more than 6 letters! Only old people like me will remember that. I remember how excited I was when Final Fantasy 3 for SNES (FFVI) came out and the female characters knew more than healing magic for a change! Or when Street Fighter 2 came out and there was a female character named Chun Li. Spinning bird kick!

If I am given an option, I will usually play as a female just because I have an option to do so now. This is to make up for all those years playing games as a child when I never had a choice but to be a male character. Also, I am always excited when I can actually name my character as myself instead of the 6 letter limit from which "Xenara" was born. :)

However, there are games where you can pick various characters and they all have different abilities, etc. So, if a male character has abilities or whatever that I would prefer to have while playing the game then I will play as a male.

Some games have different storylines or outcomes if you play male or female so for those games, I am so nerdy I usually play through twice. Once as male and once as female.

Nah. If it's supposed to represent me I'll usually pick male like in Skyrim, ME or a MMO. Otherwise I'll pick a female. A lot of it depends on how cute the females are honestly though. I always pick female pokemon trainers because they're adorable.

Nope, just want to play a good game, be it male or female character.
