My first Breath of Fire game was BOF 3 back in the good ole days of ps1 era. I rented that while my bro rented out castlevania: symphonia of the night. Suffice to say, I was entered into two franchises that I love very much.

After BOF 3, I kept up reading news about the new BOF 4 and whatnot. Got it, played it, loved it! Sometime later, I was so excited that I was able to play BOF 1 and BOF 2 on the gba, the bof games that I wasn't able to play. Then came BOF 5... I can understand why people don't like the game but I like it enough. A game I can beat in one day and the only game I've played many many times because of that. Love the BOF 4 manga, the doujinshis and all. And now BOF 6... :: sighs :: ...still time to change things around company that shall not be named for BOF 6...

But I digress, I love the Breath of Fire series. It got me into the jrpg genre that got me into other rpgs, inspired me for my stories and drawings, I love BOF 3, I love the series. Anyone out there knows, plays, and enjoys the Breath of Fire games?

Aye, fond memories of the series for me too. From playing the first 2 on emulators right up to Dragon Quarter. That game kicked my ass so many times..... worth it though. BoF 3's probably my fav in the series overall, even if it's a little rougher around the edges than 4.
As far as the future's concerned...... it's unlikely we'll see anything from it for quite a while, sadly.

I first played BoF 3 and it's still one of my favorite games. BoF 4 comes close, but I prefer the characters of 3. Also the gene system is like one of the coolest things ever.
I know I played BoF 1, but I can't remember a thing about it, besides that it was one of the hardest things ever.
I keep getting stuck in the beginning of 2, because I never know where to go.
Dragon Quater is...ehh...I'm not a huge fan of restarting my game 100 times before beating it.

Bof3 was an epic rpg I loved the part about boarding the black ship to cross the ocean, no I loved all of it. Such a good game.

I have to ask.... is your name inspired by Luca Blight from Suikoden 2?

LOL Wow, that's a more in-depth answer than I was expecting. Thanks for that.
I love Suikoden 2 to bits (don't as how much I paid for a PAL copy ) but I wasn't aware that his backstory was that dark..... I kinda hate him slightly less now
I totally forgot about Sarah from Suikoden 3 I thought Leknaat 'rescued' Luc and her- at least that's what my (admittedly fuzzy) memory from the manga version tells me.

You're right, she did 'rescue' her by abducting her, lol.

lol For the best, I guess. Harmonia was doing some pretty nasty stuff, it seems.
Another thing- that 'Highland Path' image... Is that from a book or another version of the game?

I started at the original BOF on my SNES. Unfortunately, a "friend" stole the cartridge (after I beat the game and got the real ending, mercifully), but I still have the instruction manual, map inserts, etc. And I made certain to get the GBA version when that came out.
