When it switched to DST this spring I had to drive to work in the dark and I'm pretty sure I hit an animal (it must have run off the road), so I wasn't too happy about the time change, and I don't like having to adjust times anyway. There might be some use in switching times, but the period of DST seems too long. I said this to the local members of Congress, since I think they vote on timekeeping issues, and one deferred to the state government instead of taking responsibility.

The US only really needs to have two time zones. There's a petition site that says we should put Pacific and Central time zones on permanent DST and use Standard time for Eastern and Mountain time zones. Thus effectively dividing the US time zones into two instead of 4.

I think that having there be less confusion over time changes, and not having to waste time and man power unnecessarily changing clocks would be money saving. Plus having fewer time zones to contend with would be good for commerce as well. Not to mention the boon it would be for the work force to not have their sleep schedules be screwed with twice a year for no real reason.

I am unlucky today. Someone called off from work, so I got stuck working until four A.M. I watched the clocked ticked to 2:00 A.M., then realized, it's 1:00 A.M. again. I got to the halfway point in the overtime, and had to repeat an hour.

That blows chunks, man.

I hate it when we spring forward an hour, so I lose sleep and it messes with my sleep schedule. On the other hand, I do like it when we fall back an hour and I get an extra hour of sleep.

It's always kinda weird that first Day afterwords. Then shortly after, things are back to the same.

If you want one clock for the world, you should be happy to know that it already exists and is used all over the place. It's UTC, a/k/a Greenwich Mean Time or "Zulu Time" as it's called in the U.S. military.

Was 1:30 last night and I was playing killing floor, when I get off it's 1:00. I thought I either fell asleep, or gained the abilities of a time traveler. I forgot it was daylight savings.

I don't really know the purpose of it, and to be honest I don't really care about it. I think it like shows how long the sun is up or something.

Just deal with it. Don't ask questions.

I heard a report on NPR that the losing an hour of sleep from daylight savings causes health concerns...... but then again we get extra sunlight during the summer so it's not so bad

The united states is already sleep-deprived enough, once the clock changes again it will screw up everyone's sleep patterns again.
