I don't take much issue with it. After all, barring teenagers from having relationships doesn't fare all that well. Never has. In the event that they're banned from it, it's not unusual for people to simply do so in secret. There's a reason why there's a colorful history of elopements.

I started dating when I was 13. Guess what? I'm still in love with the same person and we've been together all this time. I realize my case is quite rare, but it goes to show that it can work.

Most kids these days have no idea what love is or what they're looking for, and get into countless relationships that have no meaning. As the OP said, some people in their 20s still are just as clueless. But it depends very much on the people involved.

I guess I'm happily impatient~

I had no interest in males when I was younger. Or people in general. Any attempt back then to woo me and it was a big old effing NOPE.

I don't see the problem, as it really doesn't bother me. Some people will do what they want regardless and if it makes them happy, then why not? At least they'll learn from mistakes, although there are people my age who're immature when it comes to dating (oh man the things I've witnessed >.<). So I guess in really just depends on the peeps in question.

I think its silly. All over my school you could see couples making out and saying, "I love you" and"Your my everything". I find it funny when they say something like that when they dont even know what its really like to love someone. They'd kiss each other when they leave for class but theyd see each other in after an hour? I feel like most of them are dating just to experiment with it and to have fun, to fit in with everyone.

I never dated anyone when I was younger. When I was younger I always wanted to be in a relationship, for the title. I never realized the true reason why people dated. People would be shocked when I tell them that I never kissed or dated anyone.

I'm younger than most of the people on this site. But I would bet that I'm more mature than over half of them. I'm mature for my age. I can handle most situations very well. I take on a lot of responsibility at home, and that has helped mature me. I don't sit on my ass at home all day playing videos games and smoking pot because I'm too lazy to get a job, nor do I go out partying and trying all sorts of drugs at night like most people my age.

I'm also one of the people that think that what I choose to do with my life is my choice, and it's none of your business. My choices affect you in no way.

My answer to this: People are ignorant, so they can be idiots.
The elderly are people, so they can be idiots.
Adults are people, so they can be idiots.
Young Adults are people, so they can be idiots.
Teenagers are people, so they can be idiots.
Kids are people, so they can be idiots.

That does not mean people will be idiots.
To the OP: When it comes to dating, not everyone will be a impatient idiot.
By jumping to conclusions based off of your own personal experience, someone might think that you are indeed, a idiot.

Well I actually always wanted something meaningful, even when I was in school surrounded by a bunch of 1 week relationship morons who say 'I love you' only to cheat on them within a month, hell even saying I wanted something meaningful I had those too edgy for school guys and girls laugh at me lol. But they're all ugly as hell now, funny how things turn out.

That's a really harsh way to look at it. I agree that people tend to make really bad decisions in terms of their choice of partner at that sort of age, but it's all part of a learning curve. I started dating when I was 14 and I'd run a mile rather than date any of the people I chose back then, but I've learned a lot through making those mistakes. I honestly wouldn't take back any of my bad decisions because they made me who I am today and I'm a much stronger and better person than I would be if I'd played it safe and waited until I was in my twenties.

Most people where I live that are around my age are only really worried about sex. Love is a whole other story. Now I'm not saying everyone around this age wants only that, but it might have something to do with where you're raised. Therefore SOME people should wait till they're a bit stable, more mature, and can actually keep their pants on for a little bit. Or as op says around 20 I guess.

I don't understand it. Was never interested in it growing up.

I still kind of don't get the whole dating thing. I mean, is dating and being in a relationship the same? Lol.. This stuff honestly confuses me.

This is an individual choice depending on your local environment, family and culture. I personally didn't date until after I'd left home at 19. Big sis pushed and started at 14, she ended up having a baby at 16. Family then started to come down hard on us younger ones. I did socialise with friends as a group when I was a teen we just didn't pair off. We went to some parties as a group (even did this as a family twice), beach picnics, river picnics, entertainment events, cinema and sat together for meals at holiday camps.

i don't know... i don't feel anything about it. as long as you have someone to support you and who won't judge you, you can do as you like. and once you'd done it and face challenges... just don't surround yourself with people who are there to case you more problems.. as long as they either help you fix or butt out, it's fine.. it's already in the past.
