Boy, put the fork down, stop the midnight binges of fried chicken and krispy kreme donuts, switch to diet soda, start hitting the gyms...oh, what the hell, I'll just start a kickstarter fund for your liposuction.

there's an old Chinese proverb... we are like frogs in a well... can only see as far as the hole of the well...

that's what I feel the universe is like.

Uhmmm... No shit, Sherlock..

I noticed something.
It didn't take 8 minutes of scrolling to hit Earth so that means we were also traveling faster than the known fastest possible speed in the universe (Light). And it still took a long time to get to earth.
Makes light look really slow.
And we can't even begin to see light without equipment.
Our universe is huge.

You know, what you said reminded me of something...so light travels very fast...light can travel around the world 7.5 times in one second...and yet it takes light 8 minutes and 20 seconds to get from the sun to Earth. And Earth is a planet close to the sun.

You think about it, a light year is such a huge distance. The universe is at least 156 billion lights years in span, maybe even bigger.

It's been around for more than 13 billion years too, take that religion.

The universe is only, relatively speaking, 13.798 Billion years old, +/- a few hundred million years. The estimated diameter of the observable universe is around 93 billion light years.

I googled 'how big is the universe in light years' (something like that) and got an article discussing this and it said 156 billion light years in span, and even said scientists think it could be more than that.

So...maybe some scientists have different stances on it. Different answers because of different reasonings. Because really, it must be hard to know for sure how big the universe is currently, and I wouldn't doubt there are multiple answers and scientists ascribe to some and some ascribe to others.

Edit: Ha...my info is probably outdated. The article I found on google is from 2004.
