who was a teenager when being an emo "was a popular thing" like when all the screamo bands and skinny jeans and straightend hair over one of your eyes became popular? did you take apart in it? where you an emo kid? what do you think of it now? since it almost seems like all my favorite bands from highschool are dead...

*Coughs* Well, I was what you'd call a "Scene Kid" or "Emo Kid". I had the flippy hair in my face, all I listened to was screamo, I had the stupid Kandi bracelets, everything. Man, I own ONE picture from that time because I deleted the rest.

Never again

Oh my god, I get this. I still have my Kandi bracelets. All I did was shop at hot topic, and dye my hair every 3 months.
That was a much simpler time tho, everybody was into it & nobody really thought much.
Nowadays if you try to go for the "emo" look, your branded as suicidal or crazy. /-: ftw

My hair has STILL not recovered. I dyed it every single week, I bleached it at least twice a month (I have naturally dark brown (almost black) hair).

Yes, I remember the internet community kept calling anyone "emo" as soon as they showed any sign of sadness... or depression. "I'm so sad that I failed my exam"
"EMOO!"

I'm so glad that phase is over...

Nowadays, if you don't like something that is popular, you're immediately labelled as, "hipster" even when you're not one.
"I don't like Taylor swift"
"You're such a hipster"

It's really annoying, because I know myself better than other people know me.

I remember those days, back then I decided I couldn't keep up with all the cool phases and such, catching up with one just as it was switching into the EMO phase, so I gave up and dove into this new world of anime, then I went over board for a few years now I'm a completely normal insane adult who enjoys anime very much.

Yep, I remember that time...
That was back when I would spend nothing but days playing Call of Duty regrettably to get rid of stress.
No I did not take part in that (in my opinion) stupid fad, nor did any of my associates at school.

Oh yes, I remember. Don't think it had died off. There are plenty of emo kids with piercings.

I came in just as it was ending. My cousin is quite sad that that's the case.

Walked beside one for a long time. It just looked stupid and immature to me though.

Couldn't stand those kids. Avoided them every time I seen one.
