since slice of life is a story that portrays a "cut-out" sequence of events in a character's life. in that sense do you think every anime and manga is a slice of life?

I guess you could think of it that way, in the same way every video game is a RPG technically. Usually it boils down to something more specific when we use those as genres though. Slice of life tends to focus on the more mundane aspects of characters' every day lives.

to me it would be interesting if someone created an anime or manga that is about the MC's whole life and not just a slice of life.

Yeah I wouldn't mind seeing that. I guess it's just a matter of keeping that character's whole life interesting. Also, it would depend how granular you want to be in following their life since there tends to be major time skips in most fiction that cover large time periods.

The only show I've seen that comes close to this is, surprisingly, Dragonball and DBZ. I mean the show follows Goku from when he's a baby up until he has grandchildren. Thats basically someone's entire life.

Well at least he took a stab at it. Cut him some slack, will ya? It's not a piece of cake.

Check out Gundam Age. In part one Flit is like 14 years old, in part 2 you have Flit's son as the main character while Flit is like an Admiral and in his 30's or 40's, in part 3 Flit's grandson is the main character and Flit is like in his 50's or 60's

Alternatively there is Major. It's a baseball anime that starts out when Goro is like 5 years old, goes through his little league days, his middle school days, high-school, and several years of him playing for the MLB in the states. In the final ova he even has kids.
