I lost mine at 15, but that's because I was 'curious and really wanted to' and the girl kinda talked me into it.

I know I know that's such a guys mentality ...

As for the stigmas with virginity, not really sure what to say. I guess I would say that people shouldn't expect of others what they don't expect of themselves. Though, speaking as a man, I think men are scared of not being the best man that a woman has slept with. But that is just a guess.

I edited my profile to show my gender and age just to reply. I'll say that I've mostly ever seen this stigma on media [like other people noted] or online.

I'll echo what you said. Not for religious reasons, but I always wanted to wait. A past romantic interest teased me [or tried to] about it and since that time I accepted that if my partner wasn't okay with it then they were obviously not for me. During those times I met a friend and when I was thinking about those things they told me, "you should never --- it is embarrassing anyway." That made me laugh and I returned to feeling fine about it.

No one from my college days ever made me feel bad about it. If anything I thought it made me more approachable. I was a science major, so I had plenty of ongoing jokes about how my normal flora was uncontaminated. I also remember this one time in Immunology lab - my lab partner said something like, "if we forget this step our results will be screwed." I then replied something like, "I never been screwed in my life," acting like the soon to be graduate I was. It was less than a second for I to realize what I accidentally revealed and my lab partner giggling about it.

I'm sure my happy memories of openly being a prude, I mean virgin, was partly because I met mostly kind adults in college.

I feel any such label used to make others feel bad is wrong. If movies are any indication of reality then I'm sure I'll be in for a few more good laughs in life. But as I suggested - movies don't reflect how real life works (bullying about it). Not that I don't think a kind and mature older person wouldn't laugh.

Because by the time we get out of high school, there seems to be already a set standard that you should have already lost your virginity. Or so it seems. Funny thing is, most people end up regretting losing their virginity to that specific person, when at the moment, it was their VERY SPECIAL person.

Then there are those that, if you haven't lost your virginity yet, people will give you pity. "Awh, you're so innocent. I like that of you, but don't worry, you'll find the special person."
Piss off, those people annoy me.

Yeah, I hate it when people look down at me when they learn I'm still a virgin, as if that's a sole measure of a person's worth in this world. I don't belittle them for the fact that they don't have a high school degree, so I'd appreciate it if they didn't take such an interest in my sex life, or the lack thereof in this case.

One's "purity" has never bothered me. It's not a question that most adults being up with each other. I honestly have never cared; I have good friends I've known for years and ots not something we ever talked about.

I think the most important thing is that, if you're dating or sleeping with someone, they dont have STDs. That's all I really care about.

Be a virgin, don't be a virgin. Do what you want. Just don't to many raw dog randoms because that is a good way to catch something.

Just because it is seen all the time on movies and manga does not make it a big deal.
In real life it happens naturally

The mention of "STD" and "Marriage" will make any Crunchyrollers derail the topic into: "What? You have sexual desires?! You shithead!"

My virginity was taken, so I don't have much to say.

I could care less about all that bullshit. Girls are I don't care.
But the idea that having your virginity as a man being a bad thing is pretty childish.

Though all the world is now is fucking whoever you can and doing drugs.

I say to each his own if you wanna save yourself for marriage so be it. Personally I don't plan on getting married. As for a good age to lose it I'd say 16-17 personally I was 15 when I lost mine.
