Hey guys -

I am getting a Playstation 4 and I thought I'd upgrade my old monitor and get one for it. Now, it's become a bit of a headache as I am not very savvy in the tech aspect of things, so I thought I'd ask here for some advice.

I went to the electronics store today and I asked for some advice there and I was told that for PS4, I'd need something that displays at 100mhz, at least. That would mean buying a TV that's a bit out of my price range. So I looked at monitors instead as I would be using that screen just for the PS4.

Here's one I found which was roughly in my price range:

Would that be a good one?

If that's not good enough, can you suggest something that would be? Or you know, tell me what "specs" to be looking for to have a good experience with the PS4?

Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you.

PS4 games are always locked at 60 fps, so getting a monitor that is higher than 60Hz will be of no use.

for that price, thats not bad.

IPS panel will be a good choice. As long as it has ample HDMI on it, that would be a fine purchase.

If you don't have a headset to use or you aren't hooked up to a stereo system/sound bar you should probably make sure to have a monitor with speakers that receives sound from HDMI.

...and as john said IPS panels are nice

I run a multi-monitor setup and one of them has a HDMI switcher hooked up for my consoles. For sound I just use my headset. (if only I had a mixing board to go with that, that would be nice)
