Only if you want to waste your time and then spend most of the entire time watching Shippuden in a face palm from stupidity.
I would read the manga to avoid fillers but you'll still groan and end up in pain reading after the time skip.

If you like a manga full of Dues Ex Machina in it's purest worst form go for it
There is so much better and smarter anime out there.

It's definitely too late for me. The only episodes I've watched are the ones from when I was a freshman in High School I'd have to watch like 300+ episodes and probably not even be caught all the way up. And I've neither the time or will to do that.

I don't really enjoy Naruto that much currently (shit arc), but when i first watched it, i had some of the best experience ever watching anime.

It's not something you should think about. Theres a reason it get's so much attention, so go watch it

Naruto is one of the best anime's out there and I think it is definitely worth watching. Most of the hate for Naruto is because of its popularity and filler episodes. Filler episodes are a necessity for most anime like Naruto so I don't hold it against it. Hating something because it is popular is just plain stupid. Naruto is well written, has good character development, awesome soundtrack (one of the best in my opinion) and great battle sequences. Watch at least the first few episodes and judge for yourself. You may end up not liking it but you should definitely give it a chance.

i agree with you there allthough its not perfect so it does have its bad and good parts but overall its a really good series

It's never too late, but I will advise you to skip the fillers (except for the last five episodes of the first season that actually has some relevance to the story). Those are just a waste of time and certainly not reflective of the series.

There's no reason not to try it out.

I personally just find it too boring to be watchable. The pace is just way too slow for me, esp. now that I've used to watching 12-24 ep anime.

Well the first time I watched Naruto was this summer. I'd avoided it before for the very reason OP mentioned. I only watched the first season. It'd be too much to try and watch the lot besides that much episodes is overkill. That's it for me.

Nah. It's utter trash right now; just a huge convoluted mess of nothing that needs to end but I think it's definitely worth watching before Naruto goes SSJ.

Don't worry, Naruto deserves at least some of the hate it gets. It has a shit load of pointless fillers, and there are times where the plot moves along at a snail's pace.

It has a lot of really good moments don't get me wrong, but it's like an ounce of gold covered in a pile of shit.

However if you want to start watching it, I recommend you find out which episodes are fillers and skip those. It will cut your watching time in half.

Thanks guys. Even though it may be terrible right now, or just filled with fillers, but I feel as if I'm missing some anime history. I mean, I see the word "Naruto" ALL over the place, and it's clearly the most popular anime in the world, so I just don't know.

Naruto is not the most popular anime in the world, One Peace is.

Be like me, and check which episodes are pointless filler, so you can skip them. I think the wiki has them listed.
I left off at episode 277 during the start of the Shinobi war arc a year or so ago, and you know what? It is still going after 100 episodes later.

I agree with Peri, skip the filler and watch the good stuff. It generally quite entertaining and good to watch, but the filler kinda drags it down :/

No, probably best to time to watch. You can skip all fillers and there probably won't be any filler from this point on in the anime.

Why watch Naruto when there's so much better to watch?

Exactly. Not only is there so much better anime there is much better shonen anime.

Here is a question though. Do you like how awful Sword Art Online is? If so you will love Naruto even through it's last 4 years of terrible writing
because if there is thing I have noticed everyone who loves SAO considers it and Naruto the best animes to ever exist, that they must have been written by some ethereal mystical creature.
