Hi there. I just wanted to mention that there seems to be an issue with the music in Yona of the Dawn. It's often way too loud! It can be very distracting. I've read comments on other sites that mention there not being a problem when people watch the show through other means. I don't know if that definitely means there's something going wrong on CR's end, but I figured I'd make a post about it. It's happened in more than one episode and in multiple scenes, but a particularly good example of the problem occurs from about 5:30 to 8:00 in episode 4.

If it's not a problem on CR's end then I guess never mind.

I think it's your speakers being unable to resolve the dialogue simultaneous to the BGM. not the mix Sounds crystal clear to me on the SVS Prime Speakers, and those are not the best speakers I've got on hand.

It is overwhelming on an Amazon Kindle Fire HDX. I've posted in the series forum, and at least one other person mentioned the sound volume. Dunno what platform he's watching. Since it's the only show that exhibits this behavior, I'm disinclined to blame my device.

Fansubs have been known to tweak episodes to fix what they perceive as issues. Legal services usually have less latitude in how much monkeying around they can do with the material.

Funimation also has the series, however, so if you are in the US, you could view it there or at Hulu to check if their version has the same issue. If so, that would be strong evidence it came that way from the publisher.

Funi is only up to episode 3, so they'll probably need to wait until next Tuesday to check that for errors.

It does seem to make a difference depending on the device and sound system being used... When I play it on my Kindle Fire HD, the background music and even the sound effects do seem about twice as loud as they should. It isn't quite so bad as to make it be completely un-watchable, but it is a little distracting at times.

But when playing using my Roku HDMI out, through my surround A/V receiver with 5-way surround + sub-woofer, then it's just deeper and relatively more subdued in the background away from me, where it really does heighten the drama, more like in a movie theater. It doesn't really interfere with the dialog; that sounds more spatial, like its coming from a different place closer to me... Honestly, the first time through I hadn't noticed it being especially loud on the Roku at all, but after listening on my Kindle, it does seem to be perhaps a little heavy-handed.
