I don't and I rarely want to.

I can read really, really fast. In my head and speaking out loud. But when I read for leisure, I'm not usually doing it because you're really enjoying anything if you do that.

Not really. I read somewhere ppl don't actually speed read, they guess what the words are going to be...

So in a sense, I doubt someone can speed read a science textbook about genetics. Where the words are really hard.

A useful talent I want to have is photographic memory... I'll never have to fail a test ever again.

I read the entire Divergent series a second time in less than 3 days, but I still gained something from it that I didn't gain before. Speed reading is my normal reading.

People seem to have different standards for speed reading. I had someone tell me they thought 6wps was fast.

I don't really care for it much though.

I can read at a good pace, even proved it to a friend when we had a test over the great gatsby. didn't even read a chapter and we had a test the next day, I skimmed most of it and only missed 1 question on the test. he missed 4, and he still won't let that go

I've created this tool in order to practice and enhance speed reading skill.
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/read-fast-bro/fbdellaidbbhmlmecbeblmjhgnodecjh

This is an extension to Chrome browser. The aim was to learn speed reading on any website with any text formatting. Please try the tool and use that if you like.
I appreciate if you'll leave or e-mail feedback about this tool.

speed reading, once you understand that it's mainly glancing, picking out words, reading the first and last sentences of paragraphs, etc... It kinda feels cheap and you kinda feel like there's little to no comprehension.

meanwhile I tend to read fast, but I also somehow, sometimes, tend to gloss over sections without notice.

IF YOU CAN ACTUALLY DIGEST EVERYTHING THAT YOU ARE READING AT THE SAME TIME, YES IT IS VERY IMPRESSIVE

HAVE A FRIEND THAT CAN READ AT A MONSTROUS RATE AND IT LITERALLY CUTS OFF SO MUCH TIME ON THINGS LIKE HOMEWORK

If you're able to understand what you read, then that's perfectly fine.

in college most people learn how to skim trough garbage they put in the textbooks to fill space so they can charge you $150 a book. out of chapter that's 25 pages there is about half to a 3/4 of a page of information you actually need rest is just blabbing of an author
