There are some creatures where the male bears the child instead of the female, and it's not just limited to seahorses (probably the most well known example). Why don't we just call those child bearing males females then? Because the words male or female does not refer to which member of the species bears the child. It comes down to the genetic composition of the gametes they produce. A male produces sperm, if the mechanism causes fertilization of the egg to occur within the male, he bears the child and that doesn't make him any less male.

Well due to my large irrational fear of pregnant women
I think I'd have a heart attack if there were pregnant women
and men
Thankfully it is not biologically possible.

I think we'd be in the same situation we are in now. And men would be willing to do all that because men aren't as uncaring as they are depicted.

What always has intrigued me, is, what if instead of our reproductive system being turned on by default, the entire human population had to consciously decide to have children?

Let's just say, men were all given a vasectomy at the age of 13, and this process was COMPLETELY reversible. Just to be fair, same with women. go under the knife as soon as puberty hits, and no more accidental babies. And although in real life this is a lot harder to reverse, they were just as easy to switch back when you're ready to have children. And, we assume, that it's a 100% effective birth control... What would happen?

Consider that both the male and female would now have to decide to have children. Consider the possibility of people getting this process reversed, but not telling anyone. Consider how relationships might be. Considering how parenthood might turn out. What about being all giddy to have children, but finding out you may not be so excited for them after you've chosen to have them. The sky's the limit with different scenarios that might play out.

What do you think might actually happen?

I just read the title of this post.

And, yes, I think men should be able to get pregnant.

Swapping genitals would only take away a man's only true weakness, the low kick. Do you really want to take away that weakness? I mean men are already overpowered as it is, and definitely need some nerfs. I've been petitioning the developer for a while now asking for nerfs but I keep getting the response "working as intended". I understand that girls generally level up faster, but most people only care about end-game content anyways.

really i just say stop having babies if ya keep wanting to get laid stop wanting to get laid its not hard and boom populations good and poverty is down kids cost more than pets and they cost enough as it is

Im poor lots of crap is happening to me and my family and worse are coming for this winter but as a modern human i have the endangered quality of "Logic" if your poor you should not make yourself more poor. people should stop getting laid and think about not being more poor and eventually having the kids taken away anyway cause they cant afford them by child services leading to more despair

no matter what gender it is most humans are stupid and obey their most basic desires ..today anyway have some will power. anime should be teaching SOMETHING of that quality....does not exist in my neighborhood though aside from me

Hmmm. I suddenly want to play the Sims right now.

There was some story on the news that gave some men some of those fake pregnancy belly things that also simulated the pain of contractions. None of the men could tolerate that pain very well as they said men have a lower threshold for pain tolerance.

Both men and women handle pain differently in real situations than they do in test situations...they should have had a female control group for that test. I think that a man, faced with the impending arrival of his offspring, would be just as determined and dauntless as women are.

That said, I've never been prouder and more impressed with my wife than during the births of our children. She was calm, focus, strong, and just plain amazing. Our first baby was preemie, so there was a lot of extra worry, but she supported and comforted me every bit as much as I did for her.
