We have done it.

After years of a do-nothing Congress and government, we tossed out some bums in the name of Justice. And our new representatives will need all their powers as Champions of Justice to fix the mess left to them: super speed to pass bills that no one has even read, super vision to give them the unparalleled power of hindsight, and super majorities to debate the matters that matter, like should sports teams name themselves after minorities.

So, Crunchy:

What do you expect the new Congress to do?

What things would you want them to focus on?

Isn't "I'm Just A Bill" the best School House Rock song eva?

No, no, and Yes.

Those are the correct answers, you better write them down, because they'll be on the test later.

I don't see this thread going very well....

Either way though, I expect congress to do the same thing it has always done nothing more and nothing less. Don't care what they focus on they will just ruin it anyway. "I'm Just a Bill" pales in comparison to "Conjunction Junction".

Actually I personally think the American Government works best when it's adversarial. You put two sides together that have to work things out and they usually will. The last few years it's been a no show with the Democrat Harry Reid using the Senate to keep anything from having to get to President Obama that the Republican House sent to them. Now it'll be interesting that the 1/3 of the American government directly beholden to the people might start working again.

As to "I'm Just a Bill," I must decline, while it's up there, "Interplanet Janet" and "Three is a Magic Number" rank higher to me.

Even as a more left-leaning person, I must say... the Democrats have been a bit short of decent for a while now.

Champions of Justice? Nice rhetoric, but as everyone knows Congress hasn't exactly been championing justice for quite a while now. We just traded some blue turds for red ones.

I'll wait to see if they actually accomplish anything worthwhile, but not with bated breath.

1 mile from town.

Not an american but my professor who teach american politics like to bash on Republicans and after seeing that Republicans took control of the senate. I guess the senate will now do something rather than having gridlock with the democrats, for good or worse.

The Republicans have a huge responsibility now to show the country they can get stuff done if they want to stand a chance against Queen Hillary Clinton in 2016.
