Seriously everyone I don't think it matters democrat or republican they do the same thing either way, talk about getting stuff done and not actually doing anything.

P.S. It really swings your vote when some teacher you never heard of calls your house to tell you the republicans were mixed up in some illegal stuff in a school and now have a restraining order on them from that school. So she calls to tell you the democrats would never do such a thing so we should all vote for them.

One last thing yeah I'm a ninja.

Meanwhile, back in Caifornia....nothing's changed. Except I'm paying more sales tax thanks to the idiots who couldn't read and voted "yes" for measure BB. If y'all want BART to improve, pay more to take the train.

They will try to push things that make sense after years or stupidity...and Obama will wear out his veto pen. That's my guess. Or as usual Obama will just do what he pleases and not go through the other branches of government like he's supposed to.

What would you expect those be? I ask because what I see and hear from the right, particularly their attitudes toward science and social issues, doesn't seem very encouraging to me.

Note: I'm not trying to pick a fight. I know these topics can get really contentious and the last thing I want to do is instigate a 20+ page flame war.

So pay for it yourself. I certainly don't expect you to pay for the gas I use to drive to work.

I don't know what you're even on about at this point. The individual mandate and the medicaid expansion (or at least something very similar) were both proposed on behalf of the Heritage Foundation in 1989. If it's about the discrepancy in regard to the single-payer opposition, I've already corrected that. Or are you getting at the split Massachusetts government in 2006?

The thing about just crying "TROLL!" and leaving it at that is that the other person doesn't necessarily know what your problem with their argument is. You never know, I might be trying to have an adult conversation and just have my facts wrong. Didn't that ever occur to you?

Oni, not troll.

Politco Mythology Checker rates your claim as "Pants On Fire."

I deleted my post that this response was in reference to, it included a very inflammatory "boooo."

Let me explain

I do not live in California. I do not believe the Bay Area Rapid Transit is using its funding properly, and I don't like that it can invent value for itself based on potential self-described land-value increase of the areas it reaches.

But I do believe that anyone should be able to take the train, and I do believe that not everyone can own a car. So in the end, I think we should shoulder the weight of public service together, might we need it in times of trouble.

Honestly, I understand where your frustration comes from. My city has the worst metropolitan public transit system I've ever looked into. I do not use it if I can help it, I do not want to use it. It's pathetic and you have to plan hours in advance to get across town and you can't expect it to be on time or to get a second chance to get on the bus you need to take. When I've visited Chicago and D.C. I was blown away by how possible it was to travel great distances in a short amount of time without a personal vehicle.

Even the title of this thread pisses me off. Probably a troll, but don't think it should be allowed to stay up. Because someone thinks that we should tax and legalize marijuana, we are hippies? Is that why liberals are called hippies? Correct me if I'm wrong in what the OP was trying to say. I've never wanted to smoke marijuana, and was raised to believe it was "wrong" because of Christian brainwashing in my life, but I still think it should be legalized.

Just because I don't agree with conservatives who are stopping equal pay for women (and women's rights in general), use religion in politics, where it has no place, refuse to recognize scientific facts, and prevent gay marriage when it has literally nothing to do with them, doesn't mean I call them hillbillies or rednecks. Even if I was joking, wouldn't it annoy you?

Edit: Congrats to the Koch brothers for buying the senate with hundreds upon hundreds of millions of dollars worth of advertising. Great job there.

Opening post? How about thread title?

Which was brilliant, by the way.

Actually, I just edited that in right before seeing your post.
