Please correct me if I'm wrong but:
Based on the images I found via google, it can be assumed that the cr bucks balance is stored on
CRs servers.

I can't imagine it to be legal for them to just make your money disappear, at least not without an announcement
and any fair time period for people to deal with it.

Is the legal deparment at CR on an extended holiday trip?

Folks, seriously, don't act like you are at their mercy. It was your money, you already paid it.
I think CR Bucks had some sort of gift card like character, or is some sort of
monetary liability.
Contact support, but don't ask nicely, demand what is yours! Use some legal buzzwords that should help.
This is not about acting offended and be like "I won't renew my membership. Take that CR!"
It is their obligation not yours, that you get what rightfully is yours. Maybe not a refund,
but a premium membership, a gift card, a coupon...
They can't just make your balance vanish and hope nobody notices or truely cares.

I don't have too much in the line with CR Bucks since I only have $3 when they shut it down. Though, I put this thread up to inform the users who are more invested in it to take action. This is the best that I can do for everyone.

It was pretty sneaky, even predatory, on the things that took place. It would've been really nice if there was an actual announcement to this rather than some third party fellow like me letting you guys know.

Nah, I don't think there's any ill intend behind this.

CR staff probably just didn't consider anyone having any significant unspent balance.
An official announcement would have caused a lot of people to use the payment methods CR wanted to remove, and they most likely wanted to switch to recurring methods to improve budget planability.
But if numbers get large enough, the unlikely(GTMacc with 150 $) becomes almost a certainty and it's just bad practice in CS not to take border cases into account.
I guess they already dropped the table containing the balance information in their database and the 'simple' support employee surely doesn't have access to database backups.
So all people with significant balance (in my def: $ 10) need to complain so someone uses the latest suitable backup and deals with this.
I believe no one important at CR realized yet that this is a real issue and surely also unlawful.

The Bucks system was entirely handled by another company (www.superrewards.com). As far as I know, any remaining credit is with them, not us. While I doubt that they will make any payouts to users, they might be able to convert the credit for use with some of the other sites they are associated with. The best way to find out about the possible remedies is to contact their customer support.

Oh, sorry then for making any false accusations and thanks for clarification. Crunchy is a quite neat service at most of the times, but I believe many would like to see a more open policy regarding the communication of site issues or on not purely positive news/changes in general.
The mood in the help forums could be so very different.

Our support staff is very eager to help the users with their issues, trust me. But some stuff, like payment, shouldn't be handled on public forums. (That's why it's explicitly mentioned in the header bar of the help forums.)

The forums can't be constantly monitored, as the highest priority of the English support staff is answering the actual support inquiries coming in through the support form.

That's a bummer, I had about 45¢ left. I liked the crunchybucks service, since I don't use credit/debit card & it was easier (& cheaper as I saved £2-£4 per 1-3 months since I paid in dollars rather than pounds) for me to buy my all-access membership through my mobile phone.

Just like to point out, anyone with CR bucks you have no chance of retrieving them, been emailing for 3 weeks on the issue no one will return or refund my missing credit, both crunchyroll and super rewards that run the service both deny the funds are held with them.

Very disappointed to lose out on $130 had in my account, anyone know how i can get legal advice on getting my funds back? tried www.bbb.org/ but that was a bust.

You should contact a lawyer or attorney-at-law for any legal advice. Anything you glean from lay forum members is not likely to hold any weight.
