there's people out there that like the same stuff you do.. trust me. And like eventually gravitates to like. What it is is that you're young, and really haven't stepped out into the vastness of the world. (it's not your fault. it's the same with everyone right after HS).

It's also because people who like things like anime, or like comics, tend to keep it to themselves. I mean hell, I never share the fact that I like anime to anyone. (also, quite frankly, most oter anime fans, or people who introduce themselves to me as such, scare the ever loving crap out of me... Your geeky side is something you kinda have to eaaaaassssse people into. get them to like you and feel safe before you start talking about how OMFG!!! FMA IS THE BEST SHOW EVAR!!! I LOVE AL! ONE OF MY FRIENDS NAMED HER DOG WINRY!!!(which she did and it's totally awesome, but beside the point here).

Quite frankly, it's that stuff that keep people from trying it.

Anyhow.... you will find them. Give it a little time....

I find it very difficult for me to find people in my area who enjoy anime. It's nearly impossible. I have friends but not on of them would be interested in Anime. I just wish I knew more people around my area. I need to talk ANIME. AND THERES NO ONE. Anyone else have this problem D:

It...should not be that hard. Anime Boston happens in Boston. And it is one of the largest Anime conventions in the US.

Meetup.com also lists the Boston Japanese Animation and Films Social Group. They seem pretty active as well.

Personally I have never had a problem finding people who enjoy Anime. Living on the West Coast does make that easier, but there are a lot of people on the East Coast that enjoy it as well. Many of the largest conventions are on the Eastern Seaboard or just inland. There are probably a dozen or more large Anime conventions within 500 miles of Boston. There is also a Boston Japan society in Boston, which is probably not the place to find people into Anime, but they might have listing of local clubs. Heck, one of Boston's sister cities is Kyoto.

But there should be a lot of people in Boston that are into Anime.

If you are shy about meeting people, just carry a pencil board or a manga around with you. People who are into Anime are going to stop you and talk about it. Those who are not, probably will never notice it.

Fine some peeps at a convention...in all likelihood if they are making it to the convention they have to live somewhere in the area.

I have many friends who don't like anime. But anime and making anime graphics are a big part of my life. It'd just be nice to have friends that I could talk about anime with. I have to keep it all bottled up inside! And when I try to explain to my Mom shes like 0____o yeah sounds cool hunny. Lol

Yep, that's an atypical response from someone who simply doesn't care. Anywho, it really is quite difficult to find others who like anime. I have two friends who do, but the rest are completely baffled by it. This might sound silly, but I worry and constantly work on sustaining my popularity and image, so it's something that I never, ever bring up in front of others.

I simply don't want people finding out that I like anime. On the flip-side, my last girlfriend was actually a bit of an anime fan. We'd stay up until 2:00-3:00 AM watching the old DBZ episodes with each other. It was absolutely amazing having a girlfriend that I could watch anime with.

I was lucky enough to find people who like anime in my high school. For my first semester in college (This semester actually) I took a Japanese course, and almost all of them are anime fans and manga readers.

Yeah it's really hard and you shouldn't keep what you love a hidden secret. Like I'm always posting things on my instagram or even facebook, and snapchat with anime related stuff. And I think people don't mind it. I really don't understand why anime gets such a bad rep. But yeah I got my ex into anime and we'd stay up very late watching episodes. HECK I made him watch the whole naruto series.

You know I would love to go to anime Boston, I live outside of boston. But I have no one to go with it to. And I'm so utterly shy that it'd be weird to go alone.

Well, in my social circle it's kind of necessary to keep these sorts of things secret. We're not quite jocks (well, I guess we sort of are), but we all have the same sort of "clique" style mindset. We absolutely love giving each other shit, and I don't want to give them any ammunition.

Although I wasn't ashamed to brag about my experiences in Tokyo the last time that I visited Japan. They're fully aware of the fact that I love Japanese culture, but I haven't gone into specifics when it comes to anime.

Sorry for the giant wall of quotes. I'm still new to this community, and I haven't bothered to figure out how to remove certain quotes from the HTML code when making posts.

I thought the amount of people who loved anime was abundant, maybe it's just in my area. I mostly try to avoid a lot of anime lovers since from my experience they tend to overwhelm me with information and I just end up sounding like an idiot. (Can't remember a lot of character names and details).

A lot of people like anime, unfortunately many of my friends think I need to grow up when I tell them I was up all night watching a anime series.
Most of them think of cartoons that kids watch they hear the word anime, they do not realize that there are much more mature and interesting shows that are animes that are just so much of fun to watch.

I have some stickers on my laptop (manga/anime themed) and I've had a couple of friends walk up to me to talk about some of them when they see the sticker. In fact once I sat at some random spot in the library with some chinese students, opened up my laptop and the cute chinese girl sitting across me pointed at my laptop and went "Attack on Titan"

And yes I sat there because she was cute..

Back to the topic, I think we are spread across everywhere but if you have a calling card (like a sticker =P) someone will bite =D
