No I don't believe in fate. Life is pretty simple: choice-action-consequence

In many ways, I've felt similar. Life is a lot of crap to deal with, and once I get everything sorted, that'll be the day I die. >.<

I think it is yes, but you walk the path you want to get to it.

I don't think the entire life is predetermined, but there are some aspects of it. I don't know, just a feeling.
It feels like there are multiple paths, or maybe it's just an illusion and they all lead to a similar, if not identical situation.

My family believes in a lot of spiritual topics and there was this one where you actually decide what sort of experience you want as a soul, and claim that experience in a lifetime.

More or less, but that events aren't concrete until after they've passed, aside from organic death. I subscribe to the Chaos Theory.

I didn't start this for a debate just like seeing peoples thoughts on the subject. Thing is when religion and theological discussion comes up there is no right answer just what do YOU think on the matter. My whole family is Christian or Jehovah witness this came up due to me and my aunt discussing god and his plans for us at the end times is all predetermined (just like the prophecies in there as well).

No because I might as well believe in god/the matrix if I believe in that.

You do not have to believe either to believe in Predeterminism. There's nothing mystical about believing our genetics (Such things like our chemical balances) dictate our behaviour as to make our fate predetermined. I personally don't believe in this type of Predeterminism tho.

Chuck "Predeterminism" into your Google search and look at the Wikipedia page on it, gives a good overview of what it is and it's actually quite interesting.

Einstein used to believe that we can use physics to predict everyone's actions from the beginning of time to the future(he still believed criminals should be jailed too)

until quantum mechanics came on board.

Granted, some people might not change themselves all that much alone but people meet over 100,000 other people on average in their lifetimes.

Fate from the beginning of time cannot be reproduced or proven wrong so it falls into the same class to me.
