Is It Okay Or Ethical To Have Sex With Zombies.
Posted 11/9/14 , edited 11/9/14
Okay, so I was reading a manga in which this happened, and now I am so confused...but thought "hey, this makes a good topic to discuss the true value of "dead" bodies".

Notes: No the bodies aren't rotting.

Edit: We're here to discuss the value of dead bodies.

I think that would be considered rape because the zombie can't give his consent.

I define worth of life on usefulness and consciousness. It's how I sleep at night knowing I eat meat. Animals, quite frankly, don't have a consciousness as complete as humans, thus our superiority. Animals don't give consent to the torture and slaughter we put them through daily. Yet sex with animals is taboo because they can't give consent. And it is considered torture. Zombies are no different than animals. Their consciousness has been destroyed, relying on feral instincts in order to feast on their next meal.

Now, back to the topic on hand, what is the worth of a dead body? You can grind it up into food, like Soylent Green. (pretty sure science can get rid of all those nasty side effects that come with cannibalism). You can salvage the organs and transplant them into other human beings. You can donate it to science.

Yet, most of us don't give our organs. We have preconceived and yet unproven ideas that I consider to be falsehoods on the value of dead bodies. People want to waste space with Cemeteries, let their fresh organs rot in the ground. Some go as far as to encase themselves in concrete, lest the very Earth devours them.

Quite frankly, I don't understand. You're not spending 200k to freeze yourself in case they managed to revive you, you're just rotting. You feed plants and animals, but what about humans? Can we not benefit from your demise? Your organs? Your blood?

Now, I ask for your opinions, so that I may enlighten myself further.

why are you complaining about this? Don't you know that it is perfectly fine to do that.

They're technically alive and are unable to consent to sexual activity, so I'm pretty sure it would be unethical. But that assumes you're talking about mindless shufflers who just wander about trying to eat all the time. If they're conscious and able to give consent then I suppose it's ethically sound (though bizarre).

Well, the thing is that we're talking about humans which have contracted some sort of disease or curse which has caused them to become a mindless drone driven only by its urge to feed. We would protect them from being taken advantage of for the same reason we do that for the mentally handicapped or children.

How are you exactly defining "alive"?

In most Zombie scenarios the "infected" have either died, meaning all bodily functions have ceased(heart, brain, lungs, etc...) for some amount of time and the then rebooted with only very primal motor function -OR- it's some sort of massive simultaneous body hemorrhage that instantly shuts down and destroys all body function and reverts to basic function.

In either case the infected would at best be nothing more than primal animals with no thought or will of their own, I wouldn't even go as far as calling them animals because even animals have some sort of self awareness.

I don't see the problem.
The reason rape is bad is because it affects someone else in a negative way. Zombies don't have emotions. It'd be like having sex with a blow-up doll. The only difference between the two is that one used to be alive at some point, while the other one didn't.

hmmmmm.....

Originally I was like, "hey, whatever.. it's a corpse, right? not my cup o tea, but If it's non-living what do I care"

Then reading some of the comments, it's like, "wait, what about non-dead "zombies"?"

Then I thought about getting oral stimulation from a zombie... That's REALLY risky.

Then I thought about a movie I saw on netflix where basically a woman contracted an STD and became a kind of patient zero for the zombie apocalypse, but she kinda wanted to screw everyone she could before she COMPLETELY lost her mind (scene with maggots in the old vagoo... not pretty.)

Moral? I have no clue. Kinda gross? hell yeah.
