I had a dream like that then I realized that this wasn't really my home, even tho it was identical. So I broke out. Some times I have dreams about events that turned out different so yea, I believe that dreams are alternate realities.

I sometimes have dreams of myself falling down the stairs and I would be clinging on to the railing for my life so that I don't fall all the way to the bottom. I remember that I would never let go of that railing. I've dreamt about this several times for many years.

I've had that one multiple times but not in a while though.

I always see it as a sort "treat simulation" the brains create that simulate potential threatening events, or the progressing of information and images that lead somehow to dreaming. though there are many theorys about whats the point of dreaming, i love to think about the endless hidden secrets the brain got for us. Nonetheless i love dreaming even withous a purpose .

Would be cool if dreams really are a separate locations and some of us have shared "dreams" before.

Dreams are little theaters into what your subconscious sees and what we don't. When I'm worse off, my dreams are horrifying. When things are going good, they're fun and have given me a ton of ideas and propelled other ones.

I feel like the point of dreaming is seeing what we can't see when we aren't fully able to.

You can make dreams come true, and not in the cliched sort of way. I've dreamt I've done something, gotten the idea, and done it plenty of times. It's almost like your mind is saying "You idiot. You could do this, but I have to push you to do it". Sort of like a sleeping personal trainer.

If each single dream is a separate alternate universe, I think I've been to plenty. Some are beautiful, some are scary. For most, I visit each dream only once but at times they do recur. As much as I'd like to think they are visions from the future, I'd prefer them to be a different universe that we can all travel to someday (with our consciousness, not subconsciousness). Though, I think I might just be 'dreaming' right now...
