Post Reply Auto-Play

is there any way to disable automatic automatic play? i am getting very annoyed with Crunchy Roll.

every time i am watching something it will just randomly stop playing. and then show a message saying it will play the next episode in like 5 seconds. well the current episode hasn't been finished yet. it keeps occurring like 2 or 3 times per episode. and i even have the auto-play icon turned off.

i really don't understand why it's doing this. but it's very frustrating.

omg. this is literally one of the worst streaming services EVER. the web player performs so poorly and slowly. and i can't even get past this one episode. literally every 5 seconds the episode just stops playing as if it were really the end of it.

and the sub-titled content is just terrible. can't get real sub-titles that actually define things. lmao it's no wonder why people download torrents. can't believe i actually considered paying for things. free content via torrents is and always will be better.

seriously... this is a piece of shit service. please ban my account.

Calm down....

The best thing you can do is contact Crunchyroll directly via the Contact Us link: http://www.crunchyroll.com/help?topic=contact . There could be a dozen reasons why you're having issues. Why not work directly with CR to see if you can narrow them down?

Another place to start is their Video Help guide: http://www.crunchyroll.com/help?topic=video. You might find something there that could solve your problem or get you close.

I, as well as dozens of other users, have zero issues with CR's streaming and I live a thousand miles away from their servers.. I'll give you my computer specs & internet specs if it'll help you.

Some questions:

- What are you trying to stream Crunchyrolll on? Web browser (which one)? Mobile device (phone, tablet, etc.)? Ruku or another device?

- What is your Internet speed? Test it here: http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/

---

- Where are you roughly located? In the U.S.? Outside the U.S. (Europe, China, etc...)?

- If you're streaming on a PC through a web browser, are streaming via WiFi or are you hardwired into the back of your modem?

- If you're streaming via WiFi, what flavor of WiFi are you using (2.4GHz, 5 GHz, etc.)?

- If you're streaming through a web browser, what plug-ins/Apps do you have? Any Javascript or AdBlocking plug-ins?

Good luck.

Cheers.

I've been here for years, and have never seen the website auto-play the next episode with the auto-play turned off.

The times I accidentally had it on, I also don't recall there being any notification between episodes, which makes me wonder if you are watching on a device (I know the Roku has a 5 second countdown), not on the website. If so, turning off the autoplay on the website player will have no effect on any device.

well whatever...

i've already contacted CS prior. and they said something along the lines that everything works fine for them. and that they couldn't help me.

i use windows 7 on a desktop with a wired 50/5 connection. firefox 33.1.

the web player loads slow. not buffers slow, but loads up slowly. buffering is fine. however, sometimes the media just stops playing for no reason. and i must refresh the page.

and very frequently while watching an episode it will just stop playing as if it were the very end of. if auto-play is enabled it will go to the next episode in 5 seconds. then i can hit back button and be back at my original position in the previous. which again has not yet been finished. but if auto-play is disabled it will just give the screen with relevant content and the Replay button at the top. which even a page refresh does not put me back at my original position, i must seek it out. this occurs several times per episode. and does not seem to be limited to just Bleach. it occurs throughout several series.

all-in-all it's thoroughly frustrating.

some series don't do the count down but i have watch CR on PC, Xbox360/One, iphone, and PS3 depending on what is available. but most of the time it pops up in the player continuing to episode "X' in 10, 9,.....

I too have been having the problem of episodes ending prematurely and quite frequently. but not with the inability to disable auto-play. but if i do disable autoplay it goes to the "replay" ui so you have to do a complete reload to get the player to show again to reboot the episode.

i do have to agree with alot of the forum posts out there with this Streaming interface being flawed but that is part of trying to force 1080 740 480 and 360 into one player.

youtube does it in a different way with quality control playing a higher dumbed down, CR plays one of the 4 tracks but its in the same interface so it errors one hick-up in your internet and your episode terminates prematurely

i can understand that it is frustrating to be paused in the middle of a episode but by all rights you have no right to complain since your a freebie. the player may be a little bugged at times but the anime service is amazing they are up 24/7 and always deliver on time for a release
