Surprised the manga started in 2009, it felt a lot older.

ep 1

felt like I got hit with the nostalgia stick lol

I still think in terms of the new shows in the supernatural comedy genre, Re-Kan had the better first episode.

First off I'm super pumped to see a new anime based on a manga by Takahashi-san. <3!

Second, between the title of the anime and the first episode's emphasis on tracksuits I kept thinking of "Lagrange: The Flower of Rin-ne". >.>;

I really liked this one.
It feels like the old comedy anime. Good old days.

Chihuataro,
that was funny.

Episode 2

Here comes Rinne's grandmother, and she looks just like a girl Sakura's age. Sakura wanders into the realm where nobody still alive is supposed to be and ends up heading towards the gate to the Rinne no Wa that's supposed to be for old people who have lived fulfilled lives. But having torn off the sleeve of Rinne's haori that it kept her from going to the Rinne no Wa. It turns out that she was tricked by that damashigami rabbit not once, but twice, and those are rogues who have a quota to meet. So after a first episode that was designed more to get us into this show, this episode explains a lot of things about the shinigamis and the Rinne no Wa. That was a solid episode there, and at this point I'm still deciding whether or not I want to watch this.

Lol, I just love the grandma so far. Funny episode as usual although the story's pacing could pick up a bit more. I know there are some story arcs later on in this series so it's very manageable.

While its pleasantly inoffensive so far, I can't share your enthusiasm. Takahashi is notorious for beating a dead horse and dragging a story out way way way longer than necessary. While all of the characters learn absolutely nothing and just reset to the status quo every few chapters. The manga this is based on is already at 22 volumes. >.>

She dragged Inuyasha out for 12 years, remember.

meh, iono about this show, if it aired in the back half of the week it'd definitely be a drop, but i guess my expectations for Mon-Thu are lower.

when will we get to all the shinigami battles shown in the op...

True. Though it's hard to argue that, at least in the beginning, each of her series have been very enjoyable.

Hopefully Rin-ne continues that trend.

Thats sort of the problem, she has enough of a story to make you start reading/watching. But then the story never actually resolves anything and it just repeats the same basic handful of plots over and over for a decade. >.>

Episode 2: Memories of the Red Ring

I don't know why, but I am finding this show to be funnier than I expected it to be. It also gives this old school vibe that I like.

Rinne's grandmother/Onee-san is great, love her personality already.

Good information on how there are other types of shinigamis and more info about Sakura's past and the Rinne no Wa itself.

This episode was kind of cheesy but that's okay. Cheese is just that kind of thing.

Compared to the first episode, the second one was more enjoyable. Still not ready to fully commit to this series but if it can continue with the pace of this episode, then it could be a pretty enjoyable series

ep 1 and 2

Tracksuits are not to be taken lightly.

Getting a lot of vibes from this. The most obvious ones being other Takahashi works like InuYasha and Ranma, and other works like Noragami, and to some degree, Bleach.

the black tracksuit reminds me of Yato in Noragami , although he doesnt require a special robe since he is a god of sort but a poor gami to boot :lol:I feel Noragami was better than this character and animation wise.
It does feel old because of the character designs which I am not fond of .Since its the same style with Ranma which was from the late 80's

Well I will follow this one and see where it goes.

This series is cute-funny and wacky. I like it. No, it's not as funny as Ranma and not as action-oriented as InuYasha but it shares that same goofy attitude and Takahashi charm. I'll take it.
