Less then a day since release and they're already above the goal of $140k. So far none of their projects have been unfunded, so the desire and the support for western VN releases is strong. Hopefully developers in japan will be able to see that more clearly now.

also, while going slower and not as strong (granted it is a smaller VN), their other campaign of WAS - the hourglass of liepidoptera, has also been successfull. Hopefully kicktraq is close in its trending goal so that they go above the 46k goal to add voices.

granted, Sekaiproject doesnt seem to be about making a profit, but if they dev's worked VN's similiar to video games, producing both english and japanese versions at the same time, im sure even they'd be able to pull a profit from just about any VN they release.

That was pretty quick. I knew that with the fanbase of Clannad being so huge that it would succeed, but to get it fully funded on the first day that's just amazing. I put in a pledge for $60, which gives me digital copies of game, fanbook, and the Mabinobi album. With a lot of extra cash for this project, I wonder what Sekai Project will do with it.

Well we will be able to find out once they announce the stretch goals. But the first update that they put out at around $123K said they would like to get the HD assets from the PS3 version but they were not sure how much it would cost. My guess is that the HD assets will be the first stretch goal and maybe unlocked around $170K but then again I have no real basis for that.

Side note: I only pledged $30 because I am not sure how much I am going to be spending this holiday season but once it is over I will probably end up increasing my pledge to either the $60 or one of the $85 pledges.

It'd be a few weeks before you can say they'd have alot of extra money. even though they are above their initial goal. Their update mentions about trying to see if they can use the HD visuals from the ps3 release, but arent sure about the costs. also, they mentioned about seeing the costs of a physical fanbook. no promises that either will be added even once they have the costs, but still something to look forward to.

also, not sure when, but it seems their next project/kickstarter will be Grisaia no Kajitsu -LE FRUIT DE LA GRISAIA-, thier facebook page mentioned that their kickstarter campaign for it and clannad will overlap, and since clannads KS is going on till jan 9th, it'd probably be sometime in December when they roll out that campaign.

since WAS, and Grisaia no Kajitsu -LE FRUIT DE LA GRISAIA- both have multiple VN's to encompass the story, Im hoping that future products/KS will be the continuation of the stories.

I saw on the prefundia page for Grisaia that it's kickstarter is supposed to begin in November. "TL;DR
Kickstarter campaign is starting in November for the trilogy, we will be focusing on the bringing the Sony Vita(tm) edition of the game back to PC and the original game based on the PC version will be available at a later date."

Also for Grisaia to my knowledge (according to the prefundia page) the main goal is just to bring The Fruit of Grisaia to the west with a goal of $40K while The Labyrinth of Grisaia ($80K) and The Eden of Grisaia ($120K) are both stretch goals.

Nice, did not see that prefundia page (didnt even know prefundia existed. XD), but that is nice to know. granted, overlapping multiple campaigns is somewhat of a bad move, since pledges would be split from people whom would otherwise spend more on both. especially around the holidays.

Hopefully it'd extend beyond January, since that last addon does look appealing, but the price is abit much for around a holiday.

postage? I dont remember seeing anywhere that says one needed to add postage for anything. granted, some of the other kickstarters I have been in did require postage for some of their physical good outside of the initial reward teir, but not seeing anything about it on that page.

currently at 165 (115 tier with 50 for a physical disk) I like KS exlcusives, was thinking of going down to the physical OST, but will have to see after the holidays if I'd be able to raise it further.

It might be one of those if you are not in the US (at least in this case) you have to pay for the shipping. I know that when I pledged money to help Dysfunctional Systems get get a second and third episode for the physical goods I would have had to pay shipping since they guys that are making that game are based out of Canada. But I don't now for certain. Side note I also had no idea what prefundia was until I saw Sekai Project providing links to it on Google+.

It mentioned it when I selected the $50 physical copy, added an extra $10 and stated it was for postage. It also mentions it in the email I received. Says I pledged $50 and postage of $10.

Update #3

Nov 12 2014

Stretch goal discussions #2

Good Morning!

So first off, thanks to the amazing response from you guys we've been able to make the physical version extra special!

We are now planning to make it almost the same as the original 2004 release of CLANNAD first edition. All physical editions are being upgraded for free! We're still working on our own mockups so in the meantime, here's a few pictures of the original Japanese release taken by @misuzulive.

So what does that mean? It means you'll be getting a physical edition of the CLANNAD MABINOGI Arrange Album and 80-page physical version of the CLANNAD Fanbook! Lastly, this is also KICKSTARTER exclusive edition, we cannot sell additional copies outside of Kickstarter once it's over so don't miss out on this!

Next up is HD assets and ports, those are still under discussion with VisualArt's. We noticed people were talking about cropped assets and while we haven't seen the actual assets we will let everyone know and have a side by side comparison for everyone to take a look and judge if it should be used or not for our release of the game.

We do have some other ideas being discussed but can't talk about it just yet!

Again, a big big big thanks from VisualArt's and Sekai Project for making this Kickstarter a HUGE success we couldn't do it without everyone's support.

That would be great if i didn't already play the original with the fan translation.

IF they actually make a console port to say...PSVITA or 3DS i might reconsider.
