I've been to it a few times and it's always interesting watching people fight over random junk.

People who do that obviously never heard of something called "online shopping"

No, no, no, no, no and HELL NO, with a tall, cold glass of 'NOPE' on the side.

There is nothing a store could offer me that would entice me to shop on the Friday after Thanksgiving, nor is there anything, aside from a free wheelbarrow full of gold bars, you could offer me that would rouse me out of my deep, turkey-induced coma on Thanksgiving Day to shop with a bunch of sales-crazed maniacs.

Clearly you don't get your jollies from finding the most stressed out person in the store, sneaking up behind them and sweetly singing "It's the most wonderful time of the year".

Kinda like I do

is it a bad thing that I go just to watch? I just use amazon

Wouldn't say so; I'd consider going just to watch myself. Hell they should make a television event out of it; maybe no trampling people to death that way!

Yes, that is the point. Nothing like watching people twitch as they have a nervous breakdown over buying cheap stuff made in China.

Yes. Both online and in store. In store can be an adventure for sure, but it has been more organized in recent years in most places. The biggest frustration is just the waiting in line. Though I make a list of what I'm after and have a game plan so to say when I do. I'm in and out in under 2 hours. Online is way more convenient but it is harder to get the best deals before they sell out online than in store, at least for what I'm after.

Nope, I'm too lazy to actually wake up early and get stuff on Black Friday Sales when I can just get them some other day since that's how retail does their sales. Nothing is really Black Friday to me unless it's online since they actually have real sales. Amazon, Steam, and such.

I've been on both sides. This will be my ninth Black Friday I've worked. The first couple of BFs I closed, so I did do the early mornings to shop. Now that I'm usually assigned to opening shifts, I shop online (WAY TOO MUCH).

One thing you'll notice working retail is the gradual rollback of opening times. When I first started in retail, we opened at 6AM. Then it rolled back to 5AM, then 4AM. Two years ago it was midnight, last year it became 8PM Thanksgiving Day. This year it is 6PM

Yes, I've been Black Friday shopping for years. Luckily I don't live in a large town so Walmart isn't too bad at 5am.

When they moved it to Thanksgiving though people who would stay at home asleep because they were too lazy to get up or had kids that they wouldn't leave alone at home all went to Walmart. It was truly the worst I'd ever seen it and some of the parents were letting their kids run off and do whatever they wanted. So I'll probably go later this year after I've shopped online and everything has calmed down a bit. Usually looks like a tornado has hit and there are carts lined up at returns where people have returned stuff.

I prefer cyber monday rather then black friday. Maybe its just me but i would rather checkout online in my room than fight mobs for items that i can probably find for the same price online anyways. The really good deals or black friday are when the stores first open their doors for that day and the on sale items usually go extremely fast.
