the fact that you get your favorite characters as little chibi figurines is an awesome idea ( i dont think this sentence makes sense :/)

Makes sense.. I agree with you.

Interesting, I wasn't even aware that Nendoroids were pose-able so that makes them more understandable. Don't think they will ever be my bag though. I don't like figma's because the joints are visible and that irks me no end, but I do understand the appeal of them a whole lot more.

If you ever see a Nendoroid that isn't posable, it's definitely a bootleg. (though of course there's tons of bootlegs of them out there anyways, but you know, I've seen bootlegs that were in glued poses before) But that's why you can see the same Nendoroid in different poses and with different items. =P And I do admit I've been getting more Nendoroids since they made one fixed faceplate/connector. I have a few of the older Nendoroids and their faces and hair can't be swapped around. But I keep getting new ones and I can change all their faces. I can't say the same for Figma - since they're scaled down to proportion body-wise and face-wise as the anime character they're supposed to be, they all have different dimensions. Different heights and stuff too, which means the legs and arms can look wonky between figures also. But I don't have a single set of Figma that can swap faces with any other set in my collection (and I have over 40 Figmas).

Unless it's a Nendoroid Petite. Those aren't posable.

I've only got a couple and I can't speak for anyone else, but I prefer Nendoroids over "traditional" PVC figurines because they're cheaper, take up less desk space, and most aren't quite as risqé.

Depending on the character, a Nendo costs $40 - $60. That's substantially cheaper than (quality) PVC figurines, which typically cost $80+.

Nendos are much smaller than static PVC figurines, so they're ideal for people like me who don't have a lot of desk space or room to display "full-size" figurines. (Then again, my Satsuki one takes up so much space if I have the full thing set up it's comparable to a full-size figurine...)

Though not a hard and fast rule, lots of PVC figurines are of familiar characters in risqué outfits and/or poses they may not have taken during the actual program. Sometimes they'll make alt outfit Nendos (lookin' at you, NGE and Super Sonico) but this is rare, and if they do they'll usually base it on something worn by the character in-series (e.g. the myriad Sabers). PVC figurines, while not necessarily sexed up or anything, are more prone to having characters in revealing outfits and poses; Nendoroids cannot sex up the characters due to the chibi proportions making exposed skin not particularly sexy. Nendos' lack of sexualization is also good because they are arguably more tasteful and thus less questionable (e.g. people will ask you who that character is and what series it's from instead of why you have a 1.5' statuette of a half-naked, probably underage girl).

Then there are people who prefer them for the ability to pose them, though I still haven't gotten that down...

I was interested in a nendroid sinon because it was adorable. Any other reason needed?

\Because they're swag, and alot of people like relatively inexpensive and cute swag from their favorite anime.

PS: You spelt nendOroid wrong (there's a 2nd O in there)

Because they're cheap and they're cute? Well that's probably the main appeal of them (and the main reason I buy them). I'm not someone who has the money to buy a ton of expensive figures.

Not true. They still have movable arms and heads, and sometimes legs/lower bodies.

Those aren't Nendoroids. They're trading figures. Nendoroid is a line of posable figures by Good Smile Company.

They're inexpensive mid-quality figures. The next step down is gashapon figures. Which are all around terrible quality.

I don't own any nendoroids, but I think they're adorable. And they're cheap enough to consider giving to children.

never thought i'd be a figure person. but ever since i've started decorating my home... i've found a place where i could put them. so i'm starting to collect figures now. (i've got a lot of side tables and cube shelves).

i honestly think nendoroids would look good on computer desks/study desks or in front of my books that are in bookshelves.

that would be my reason for buying them, i suppose. don't know what other people's reasons are. I'm a special person.

____

this is my table of free! figures. i think it would be perfect if there were some nendoroids in front of the free! figures, tbh.
