Anyone read this yet?

Crunchy has it, it's done by the wife of Hideki Anno, who you probably know better as the one of the chief guys behind Evangelion.

It's supposedly a thinly-veiled exploration of their relationship, in manga form.

Was greatly disappointed in the manga, many of the jokes felt stale and didn't really offer insight into Anno or the culture or anime industry, or what an otaku relationship looks like.

Anyone have any thoughts, or know of manga which offers those things?

Ah, CR's translation is called Insufficient Direction, right? I liked it a lot actually, even if the humor didn't seem super fresh. I liked how she made fun of herself too and it wasn't just giggling and eye rolling at otaku husband. I wasn't really looking for insight and I've no idea what's out there that would provide the aspects you would like.

I think a lot of it had to do with different expectations of what it decided to be versus what I thought it was going to be, from the reviews I read it sounded like it was going to be a more of a human drama story.

Something like Usagi Drop in regard to the sort of approach to portraying two characters trying to get to know each other (though with a somewhat more palatable conclusion! )
