Hey all,

I was wondering if anyone was able to help me figure out why i can't watch videos even in SD on this site because they're constantly buffering. I've never had issues streaming on any other sites in 1080p without buffering as my internet connection is decent as seen here http://www.speedtest.net/result/3905144232.png

Shows are completely unwatchable as it buffers every couple seconds and even if i leave it to load before hand it will still buffer after about 5min

I've had this same problem only today on both the ps3 app and the android app. Videos are pretty much unwatchable.

It seems to be pretty bad today. It's not my browser (happens in multiple browsers), or my connection (running just fine, thanks). It's on Crunchyroll's end or somewhere in between.

CR really ought to buffer more than 30 seconds of video. In fact, they ought to just let the whole thing buffer, if you let it sit on pause long enough. It's not like their DRM is stopping *ahem* a certain unscrupulous pirate group from ripping their vids.

Videos seem be having more problems for me today as well. However, if you've been having problems streaming on any other day using Google Chrome, you could try disabling the built-in flash player; it's called Pepper Flash Player or something. Sorry but this all I can recommend to you.

Normally I have no issues, but this past week has been horrible. It has been almost impossible to watch an episode of Bleach (my current addiction). My PS3 is not the issue. I have other streaming apps that are working without issue. My ISP is also not the issue. My connection speed is more than sufficient for this app. Honestly I'd feel better if they admitted fault and said "we are aware of the trouble and working toward a resolution". Just let me know that you care about my concern as I am a paying member with a premium subscription. Crunchy Roll please fix this soon!!!

Based on my observations, this issue seems to be caused by a number of reasons.
I think it's a mix of too few server locations, a fixed maxium capacity and too many people watching at certain times.

I guess a scaling cloud service is too expencive for the current business model, $60 is way to cheap for a whole year
of 1080p worth of anime streaming. A german company that offers not nearly as much annual content is charging twice
as much, some are subbed simulcasts, others are dubbed releases, no HD, no free members, but also no lag.

CR would need to either charge more, or change premium to a best-effort-resolution ad-free thing.
Meaning depending on server load: free users: 480p --> SD, premium: 1080p --> 720p --> 480p --> SD

Just my thoughts.

Currently can't watch RWBY in 720p without it buffering all the time. Ugh. And 1 million threads could be made an no one ever listens.

If this were true then how is Netflix able to still operate AND create new content of their own. Crunchyroll just need to get more bandwidth plain and simple. I cannot even watch SD content right now without it buffering. That's just completely unacceptable.

Look at the numbers, netflix has 44+ Million Subscribers, and Crunchyroll has 0.3+ Million Subscribers,
by the end of 2013 netflix still had a loss on the international market.
As there are no public numbers available for CR one can only speculate.
Including PC, CR is now on 10 different Plattforms/Devices, so the reason they don't fix things can't be a
lack of developers.
So why don't get things fixed?
- They don't want/need to('cause subscribers don't go away despite how bad the service is at times,
because CR has this "supporting the anime industry" image they can feed off).
- Money. CR tries to get as many licences as they can get, and those are not cheap. So I ask myself,
how much is left to cover remaining costs.

I'm currently having issues with this as well... been going on for a few weeks, and I've tried all the things they suggest to fix it and none of them work.

I've even tried running CR on my PS3 and its still jittery and constantly buffering. I'm getting kind of tired of paying for a service I can't reliably use

Can't watch the latest Ep of Log Horizon without having to pause it every few mins. Now I am getting annoyed....I love CR and being able to watch anime legally....when the site lets me!!!

EDIT:

So I was trying everything to get it working and this has worked for me tonight..
