It's not a secret that services like Netflix, Youtube and to some extend websites like this one have dealt a massive blow to TV companies around the world.

So, what are TV companies doing to try to get their viewers back? Well, today I saw a trailer for a show called cleaning masters... I don't even... Anyhow, what do you think bout this and what are TV companies doing in your country to regain market share?

I don't know about "cleaning masters", but TV could just plain die for all I care. It's an obsolete one-direction comunication medium, they should gradually transition to having shows on the internet and eventually forget about tv altogether.
I don't watch TV at all (I don't even have one anymore)

I got rid of my tv in January. I'd realised that I'd only watched it less than once a week for just an hour or less for three years. No point in keeping it and I don't think any show will see me returning to tv. Maybe I've grown out of it.

I kind of stopped watching TV once I got to college... Then I just started watching everything online. Even when I have the chance to watch TV, there's hardly ever anything I really want to see on.

I don't watch much TV, and use mine exclusively to play my PS3. Not sure TV companies really -need- to innovate yet; the older generation will never switch fully over to internet based entertainment, so it's not a huge deal. Yet.

That said, this "Cleaning Masters" is probably just another program in the glut of reality shows that have followed in Survivor's wake.

some of those shows simply exist because they're ridiculously cheap to make and people like being voyeurs.

I still watch tv.. I catch my sports on tv, random cartoons on tv, Nat Geo Wild I still catch on tv, rarely a movie that I wouldn't have remembered is aired on tv and I'd watch.. Sure all these things are abundantly available on the internet, but oh well..

Tv is sti quite a mojar source of entertainment in my country(South Africa), simplu because internet access is somewhat overpriced here? So the dominant tv company here try they're utmost best to keep up with the world in terms of series and whatnot

I see a lot of people these days say they waiting for TV to die, but I can't see myself inviting friends over, asking 'Wanna watch a film?' and taking them to my PC screen in my bedroom.

They are trying to get their market back by eliminating net neutrality so they can throttle all of their competitors unless they pay a redundant fee to access their customers. The customers already pay for that bandwidth so it makes absolutely no sense for the services to be limited. Data is data regardless of the source. This is just anti-competitive bullshit and the major Cable ISPs should be broken up just like the telecom monopolies of old.

They are also pushing for data caps such as 30GB/month which is a laughably low amount.
