When i saw the first season it was great. it had good elements to the first season but then the second season aired.....ughh it was sooo boring, it felt rushed, and it doesn't have the same elements like the first season did. what i am wondering is why is "IS" so popular.

If it is any comfort, the second series didn't sell nearly as well as the first. The first series averaged an astounding 33,813 copies per BD/DVD volume, while the second series managed "only" an average of 16,642.

well i bet they won't be making a 3rd season

Because the light novels had two popular characters that were very marketable, and an anime could make them even more in product sales and increase demand for merchandise for the less popular characters. And, some of the fluff is cute. It's just one of those anime that sells on merchandising it's characters, and as long as other IS products sell: there will be more chances for more seasons.

at the end of the first season; Ichika become a VERY powerful guy that defeat the opponent that none of the girls can beat but then the season 2 start.....he becomes way weaker than the girls......it doesn't make any sense

Wasn't the whole fight scripted to be that way by Tabane since it wasn't seriously fighting them? Also, Ichika went into super mode.

I can only divulge a story of my own experience.

I was bored and saw a quasi-mecha-harem-action-rom-com anime. I wasn't too greedy for a great show and I just wanted some silly fun.

Charlotte was, as previously stated, pretty damn cool. They used her well in season 1, something I can't say for any other character.

The designs were fine and the color was bright. I really wanted something closer to high school dxd in both action and sexiness, but this was fine.

However, the shounen action fix wasn't fully sated until I watched Eyeshield 21, a far far and away better show.

Go watch Eyeshield 21.

Its enough to justify a third series; even though there are many more much deserving series that deserve more volumes

Laura > Charlotte, any time anywhere. Including combat ability 1v1.

I like Charlotte's personality.

Houki is tsundere.
Rin is tsundere.
Cecilia is obsessive ojou-sama.
Laura is a cross between yandere and tsundere.
Charlotte feels like a good friend trying to break out of the friend zone.

Everyone other than Charlotte comes off a little bit extreme personality-wise to me. I like that subtlety to Charlotte's personality.
The further a character strays away from a trope the more I like them.

Yeah, no. There's no way fanservice is the only reason IS is popular. If that was the case every ecchi show would be selling as well as IS2 did at least. Even Highschool DxD didn't sell as well as IS and DxD has much more fanservice. There are also plenty of examples of shows that had fanservice that sold poorly, so fanservice isn't the one-way ticket to money as many seem to think it is.

As for why IS is so popular, who knows really? You'll get use to it after a while. Trust me when I say this won't be the last time you ask "Why is [insert show title] so popular?" I have asked this question many times myself and know that I'm nowhere near done asking it.
