At the start of this year, when I was browsing youtube and seen Attack on Titan, and decided "Why not?" and just loved it ever since.

I was into anime and otaku life style early on. As everybody my age I grew up watching Sailor Moon religiously. My best friend and I were open about enjoying it and we collected stickers, cards, etc. related to it but a lot of the other kids were always making fun of us even thou we knew they watched it and enjoyed it as much as we did, they refused to admit it openly. I thought that was just sad, and im sure a lot of those people who make fun of the ones who watch anime secretly find it appealing too but just wont admit it.

I have anime since I was a child but I never knew it was anime until I was 7 or 8. I never got seriously into it until I turned 10 then I was hooked onto anime and manga and all types of otaku related stuff ever since and I don't regret that decision.

Pretty much loved Japanese media as long as I can remember. I have dealt with many people who looked down on it. I think many people look at weird as a bad thing, but it's part of why I love it so much. It also doesn't really help that those that aren't into the sub-culture often just see the most extreme things that get posted for shock value which ends up painting their perceptions on it as a whole.

Most of my life was with out anime. My cousin showd me a few, tho I question that much anime blood to a sheltered nine year old kid. Got a lot of flack for it from my family. Thought it was weird. Wasnt untill aot and witchvlade that I got hooked last year.
My cousins decision I really wonder at. And I thought I had no common sense.

I was 9 when anime hit Cartoon Network and Toonami in the UK, and it became an obsession that's lasted all the way to 24 and still going! It's a huge part of my life, but the crazy thing is that I literally wouldn't be where I am if it weren't for anime... let me explain!

When I was about 10 or 11, my friend's uncle went to Japan for a work conference and brought back a Japanese Dragonball soundtrack CD that wasn't available outside Japan. I loved the hell out of it even though I didn't understand Japanese, so I listened to it over and over until I could 'learn' the words phonetically and sing along. I carried on covering Japanese songs, mostly from animes, until I ended up doing what I do now - I'm in a five piece band called GS 1.0 (hence my name!) that specialises in covering anime and J-Pop songs, and we write our own too! So pretty much... if I hadn't received that soundtrack, I wouldn't have the most important thing in my life! (Even if it was sparked by Dragonball )

I've got links to our music on my profile if anyone wants to have a listen, but yeah - I love how something like anime can have a profound effect on your life or even just become your fave thing EVER!
