As a social worker, in counseling, we ask our clients something called the quality question, or in solution focused therapy, the miracle question. That is, what fits into your quality world, or if you woke up in your perfect world, what would occupy that existence? For me, it is anime. Of course, there are many other aspects of my life that I am grateful for / could not live without, but anime is personal to me on such an integral level. In a way, anime is my dirty little secret. It's mine, and mine alone, and I selfishly wish to keep it that way. My friends and colleagues don't understand, which makes it so more reverent. Every time I watch anime, it's an escape that only I know. Put simply, I love it.

I love the stories and the scenes. Some are extremely cheesy or cliche, but thats okay sometimes. I love it when anime surprises me, like in Wolf Girl and Black Prince. Man, that was just a never ending series of surprises One Piece surprises me often too, and it doesnt follow any kind of cliche or cheesy moments. Of course, having been serialized for so long, it has its own kind of cheesy or cliche scenes. xD

To sum it up, I love the stories and the characters.

Well I would have to say I like different anime for different reasons.

Some are just fun light comedy, that is a nice escape.

Some have rich characters that you feel you really know so when they have to make a decision where there is no good choice or something bad happens to them, you feel their pain. When characters interact, there is a logic in what they are doing.

Some have great stories, and stories that are unique, not just the same story told in a different way..

Certain plots seem to prevail, such as if you work hard, if you are honest, if you are kind to other, in the end you will win, I find this both inspiring, and the way in which anime is so different from real life, it is the way I wish the world was.

Some feature rich worlds, be it a fantasy realm, a futuristic scifi joyride, or set in a school, the sets are rich full of the little details, that turn a setting into a world.

Idk. I just like it. There's no particular reason. I first started watching it 5 years ago. And I've been watching it since. I guess it's my version of entertainment since Hollywood movies and stuff like that or even tv shows on HBO and what not don't really appeal to me. Except a selected few.

I grew up in Japan during 1997-2000, which is when Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokemon, Naruto, One Piece, and other big titles came out. So I grew up with all these instead of spongebob and rocket power, which I didn't actually see until I returned to the states in 2000-2001. My childhood is japanese, and anime will always be my 2nd main form of entertainment (Behind video games)
