The Awa arc kind of seems to be the start of it looking like Yona and her crew's activities are a bit redundant or unnecessary as Soo Won is addressing the same problems? Like things would be taken care of without them. A bit confusing to me.

The latest anime episode covered chapter 31 of the manga. I believe the manga has published 100 chapters. There are 16 volumes, the most recent was published in Japan in December. I have read up through volume 12 translated. Can't wait for more!

Thanks for telling me, that gives me hope that they will have enough content to produce a second season which is so desperately needed. I'm gonna be really sad if the anime ends on a cliffhanger and never gets picked up again.

Absolutely love this story it is getting more and more interesting as the manga progresses
Hopefully there will be another anime season and the story does completes thoughtful will be interesting to find out who yona will be with in the end I am guessing it will be Hak.. Haha or a brutal ending someone ultimately sacrifices themselves
Soo won I think did the ultimate sacrifice for yona by playing the bad guy

I think the author has done an excellent job of making Soo Won's feelings towards Yona an enigma. But maybe that's because we want him to care. We'll have to wait and see if he lets her live just because he thinks she doesn't matter or if letting Yona live costs him the throne or not. Even if she forgives him the Gods might not?

Oh man, you guys. Those last two chapters.... so freaking good!

I love this guy. He's got style, of a sort.

Hak and Yona! They look so badass. I hope Yona kills Soo-Jin and Tae-Jun takes over the Fire Tribe.

This moment... chills.

What happens next??? I need more!!!

Patience... It'll get real good very quickly. :D

EDIT: And since I'm here, does anyone know anyway of how we can get Yona of the Dawn licensed here in North America? Do we have to send an email to a publishing company (ie. Viz, Yen Press) to see if they would like to pick up the series? I'm just dying to have this manga on my shelf. ;_;

OFF TOPIC but... Speaking of licensing... Yen Press just picked up the LN "The Irregular at Magic High School" so that'll be coming off of Baka-Tsuki pretty soon...

Where to read this? Batoto does not have all chapters and Mangafox blocked it on copyright grounds. (News flash Mangafox it's not been licensed in English yet...)

I would say, if the translated anime sells well in Amerika; there is a good chance that it will be brought over. But alas, manga translating companies have turned conservative since the Manga Bubble burst last decade. They will only translate and release it if the series will bring them a good return on investment. So many thousands of people willing to buy it. If you can prove to Viz or whoever has the partnership with Hana to Yume; the magazine that it is translated in (I think it's viz) that the series will be super popular, then go for it. Personally I am hoping that Viz release a semi-monthly online Hana to Yume, like they release the weekly english Jump.

As to Kochan's response; I have to condone the reading of illegal manga scans; paticularly using a VPN to overcome any Geoblocking that they have in place on their website to prevent Americans from reading it. You really shouldn't do it >_>

Oh I had no idea about that 'manga bubble burst' until that recent CR article. That sucks; I'm actually not sure which company has the partnership (pretty sure it was TokyoPop before they ceased). Damn... Well, hopefully the anime can shine a bit. It just seems so weird that I have other Mizuho Kusanagi manga on my shelf but this. Haha. *crosses fingers*

You weren't kidding! I just got caught up to the events of the most recent chapter. I am blown away. Though it doesn't look even yet like the story is even close to finishing, I am fine with that. I love that it takes its time to fully explore Yona's journey.

Viz do "Skip Beat!" which is also a Hana to Yume title... Viz are owned by Shueisha and Shogakukan, which are both parts of the mighty Hitotsubashi Group Keiretsu. Hakusensha, who is the publisher of Hana to Yume is also part of the Hitotsubashi Group. Hence its likely Viz would get the first choice in publishing it.

Thanks for the information! Hopefully Viz decides to localize AnY!
