Just to put it out there i'm not a nerd, nether i lock myself in my room for 24 straight hours watching anime.

like the title says im in college and watching anime could affect anyone on the lack of work or whatever that affects you, i just want to show you guys several ways to be successful in college and still watch anime

-First, award yourself when you finish a hard task by watching only ONE episode of your favorite show or even before starting which i dont recommend

-Second, Do Not rush your work otherwise you are gonna have to do it again, just take your time and forget about the world

-Third, before you start watching anything set your phone alarm for 1 or may be 2 hours, trust me you dont want to spend more than that.

Finally, do what works for you and very important please please dont stay up all night in from of your computer or you will fall a-slept during class

I'm a full-time college student. I work part-time 20 hours a week. Even so, I'm currently watching 31 anime series this season.
My grades are pretty good, and I don't have any problems at work. My secret is that when I begin studying something I can't stop until I learn it completely, and I don't have a social life.

Damn, I just realized I'm a nerd.

Wikipedia:

Nerd (adjective: nerdy) is a descriptive term, often used pejoratively, indicating that a person is overly intellectual, obsessive, or socially impaired. They may spend inordinate amounts of time on unpopular, obscure, or non-mainstream activities, which are generally either highly technical or relating to topics of fiction or fantasy, to the exclusion of more mainstream activities.[1][2][3] Additionally, many nerds are described as being shy, quirky, and unattractive,[4] and may have difficulty participating in, or even following, sports. Though originally derogatory, "Nerd" is a stereotypical term, but as with other pejoratives, it has been reclaimed and redefined by some as a term of pride and group identity.

Word. When I was at college I would watch anime in the evening after all my work was done

Time management is just one of those things you learn as you get older and when you go into work it's essential

I am a full-time student, work 20+ hours a week and I can still manage to watch all the anime I want. The real trick has been said; and that is time management. You need to know yourself first. I know that I can write a 10 page paper in 2-3 hours...maybe faster if I am actually inspired, and I know I can wait to do assignments until the last moment. I have a 3.84 GPA and I owe it all to being relaxed and managing my time well. My method won't work for everyone, so know yourself and plan around what you want to do know and how much you know you can accomplish (and how quickly).

Just don't play MMO's

I do something similar. No problems at all over here.

My problem isn't watching anime so much, it's everytime I'm supposed to be doing work I'm compelled by an unholy force to start drawing or writing.

I'm like "I know I have to do this, but ya know I really wanna draw Asuna in a Slayer shirt right now". An hour later, I'm like "Well that was an hour I'm glad I wasted".

My schedule is pretty ridiculous though. I leave before dawn, get home in the afternoon, and pretty much repeat the cycle daily. I spend hours waiting for nothing, and than hours going home from it. I spend my hours waiting with anime and manga, so that's alright. Anime, manga, and music have kept me going through some pretty rough times, where I just wanna throw the towel in. But hey. I'm not a quitter.

And being a Japanese minor helps if you wanna incorporate the two

I didn't have that problem back when I was in college, as there were no streaming sites for anime back then, and I caught my anime on the Toonami Midnight Run, which gave me plenty of time to do my work for college. >.> Not that there weren't other distractions, lol.

I find it interesting how you automatically assume everyone has that kind of self-control.

I am no master in time management and not to mention I am a horrid procrastinator. However, that is some sound (good) advice for people who are new to college. (I am not new to college, 3 years already)
